... And that's a wrap! Hello summer holidays!

It's time to put away the uniforms, school books, and pencil cases.

Students and staff, and families of our SPX community, you've all worked so hard these past 10 months.

Thank you for a fun and productive school year, meeting challenges head-on and working together to overcome them as a team, whether in the classroom or in sports competitions, helping those in need, taking on volunteer opportunities, or simply being a good friend to one another. Let's raise the bar for next year!

And with that, kindly remember that we'll be back at it again on Tuesday, September 8th.

Until then, we wish you all a safe, happy, and well-deserved summer break! πŸ’™

πŸŽ“ Congratulations to our Gr. 8 students who graduated yesterday from our St. Pius X school community! You did it!

Thank you for the years of recess fun, classroom learning, bright ideas, and thoughtful discussions. May your ingenuity lead you to bigger and better things ahead as you carve out your space in the world.

Though you'll no longer wander our halls, we hope you will keep with you the memories you've made, the friendships you've forged, and the dreams and aspirations you carry for the future.

May God bless you all as you continue your journey of learning and growth through your high school years and beyond.

Congratulations, and enjoy your summer! πŸ’™

The month of June is National Indigenous History Month.

Yesterday (Monday, June 21st) marked the 30th anniversary of National Indigenous Peoples Day, recognizing and celebrating the history, heritage, resilience, and diversity of First Nations, Inuit and MΓ©tis across Canada.

πŸ₯ In this spirit of commemoration, honouring the traditions, culture, and contributions of the Indigenous Peoples, all the students at SPX had an opportunity to participate in a Spartan Lacrosse workshop this month to learn about Canada's game.

Taught by coaches Leo and Ray, students learned about the history of the game and its Indigenous roots, as well as the game fundamentals with hands-on gameplay.

Each session was high energy, fun, and informative. We thank for teaching our students and staff, and sharing your culture and heritage with us.

πŸ’« With deep gratitude and best wishes, we prepare to say goodbye to our two teachers who will be retiring this year, Mrs. Cairo and Ms. Oliveira.

πŸ’› Mrs. Cairo gave 37 years of service to the TCDSB, and spent 26 years of her career at St. Pius X. Her unwavering dedication to our special education program has been a cornerstone of our school community, touching the lives of countless students, families, and staff members. Her institutional knowledge, warm spirit, and steadfast commitment to our school have left a profound legacy at St. Pius X.

β€”β€”β€”

πŸ’› Ms. Oliveira began her distinguished career with the TCDSB in 1994. For the past 28 years at St. Pius X, she has been a pillar of faith, knowledge, and kindness. Generations of students have been blessed by her gentle guidance, unwavering support, and commitment to fostering both academic excellence and Gospel values in her classroom.

We pray for you and may God continue to bless you both as you enter into this new chapter of your lives! πŸ’™

We thank you for your love, strength, sacrifices, and support.

May God bless you today and always. πŸ’™
