Just like that another year of The Taylor Academy is complete!

This year the students of The Taylor Academy participated in 74 Masterclasses, presented 29 in-house concerts, and organized 110 outreach performances. That adds up to over 250 hours of free musical performances! We are so proud of this amazing community, and cannot wait to see what the 2026-2027 season has in store.

This video features the Academy Chamber Orchestra performing Geminiani’s La Folia Variations, arranged by Michi Wiancko.

The end to an amazing trip! Last week, students from The Royal Conservatory’s Taylor Academy and Royal Irish Academy of Music had the privilege of participating in a cultural exchange between Canada and Ireland. They had the opportunity to perform an arrangement of Ode to Joy for string quartet for Prime Minister Mark Carney and Taoiseach Micheál Martin, who were in attendance at a state dinner in Dublin.

The students included Harrison Meng (viola) and Yoanna Haeun Jang (violin) representing The Royal Conservatory, and Maxim Novojilov (violin) and Anna Varga (cello) representing the Royal Irish Academy of Music.

We look forward to further collaboration with the Royal Irish Academy of Music in the future. Thank you to everyone involved for providing these young performers with such A unique and wonderful experiences!

Gospel music is whole-body singing! 🎵🎵

Students of the Oscar Peterson Program had the opportunity to work with Karen Burke, Artistic Director of the Toronto Mass Choir, and her band last month to learn about gospel music.
