MEET THE PERFORMERS:
This year, we welcome The Bishop Strachan School cand the Father John Redmond Catholic Secondary School choirs are guest performers at "A Celebration of Black History through Music". Both groups have been engaged in gospel music programming with Professor Darren Hamilton throughout the course of the academic year and are excited to perform at this year's event, along with the University of Toronto Faculty of Music Gospel Choir!

We are looking forward to welcoming Dr. Trineice Robinson-Martin as our visiting guest scholar, clinician, and artist/performer next month!
Dr. Trineice Robinson-Martin is a vocalist, composer, scholar, and educator with over 20 years of experience in performance, pedagogy, and cultural advocacy. She is Chair of the Ensemble Department at Berklee College of Music, creator of the Soul Ingredients® Methodology, and founder of the Soul Ingredients® Voice Studio.
Here is a full list of events during Dr. Robinson-Martin’s residency:
- Thursday, February 5, 2026 - “The Legacy of African American Music” Lecture (6:30 pm - 7:30 pm) + “Soul Implied: Lecture-Recital” (8:00 pm - 9:30 pm) - FREE event (Registration Required)
There will be an Intermission (7:30 pm - 8:00 pm) and light refreshments will be available!
Individuals can attend either or both events.
- Friday, February 6, 2026 (3:15 pm - 4:30 pm) - Vocal Masterclass - FREE event (Registration Required)
- Saturday, February 7, 2026 (7:30 pm - 9:30 pm) - “A Celebration of Black History through Music” Finale Concert with the University of Toronto Faculty of Music Gospel Choir - TICKETED event

We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Trineice Robinson-Martin will be the guest soloist for the University of Toronto Faculty of Music Gospel Choir’s 3rd annual “A Celebration of Black History through Music” event on Saturday, February 7, 2026.
Dr. Trineice Robinson-Martin is a vocalist, composer, scholar, and educator with over 20 years of experience in performance, pedagogy, and cultural advocacy. She is Chair of the Ensemble Department at Berklee College of Music, creator of the Soul Ingredients® Methodology, and founder of the Soul Ingredients® Voice Studio.
As a performer, she blends soul, jazz, and gospel, earning praise for her emotionally resonant artistry.
Dr. Robinson-Martin will also present a series of guest lectures and a vocal masterclass during her visiting guest scholar/artist residency from February 5-7, 2026. Stay tuned for more details.
