TEACHER RECRUITMENT

The Canadian International School System (CISS) operates four school programs in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. CISS consists of the Canadian International School - Vietnam (CIS), the Bilingual Canadian International School - Vietnam (BCIS), the Canada-Vietnam Kindergarten (CVK) and the Albert Einstein School - Vietnam (AES).
The positions listed in this posting are for a duration of 1 to 2 years. The contract period may be extended upon mutual agreement.

Positions Subject (s) Grades
3.0 Primary Teachers English/Science Grade 1-5
2.0 Secondary Teachers ESL/ IELTS Grade 6-12

Required Qualifications and Commitments:
- Teacher certification in the subject specializations and divisions for the above position
- English as a Second Language
Duties include:
The successful candidate is expected to
- Contribute effectively to the on going school improvement process
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop curricula to meet the needs of all students
- Participate fully in the development of short and long range teaching/department plans and implement effective teaching and learning strategies that include use of technology;
- Implement the English Program using a student centered approach
- Ensure that the assessment, evaluation, and reporting strategies and practices are informed and meet the standards of the School;
- Work as a member of aprofessional learning community to share effective practices, provide rich learning experiences for students and use meaningful and authentic print and digital learning resources;
- Develop students as global citizens and inquiring learners
- Support all students in developing a love of learning to achieve their full potential;
- Ensure that all students develop competencies in literacy, creativity, communication, collaboration, and thinking skills;
- Develop caring and positive relationships with students
- Model the character education in action through active involvement in social justice issues
- Lead, coordinate and/or support co-curricular activities, sports, and school events such as arts and culture;
- Establish and contribute to an inclusive, caring and safe learning environment;
- Establish and contribute to an inclusive, caring and safe learning environment;
- Work as a professional learning community to share effective practices, provide rich learning experiences for students and use meaningful and authentic print and digital learning resources;
- Work with the school leadership team in the implementation of school improvement work; and
- Inspire public confidence in CISS by developing positive relationships with parents and the school community.
Experience:
- Experience in implementing the English curriculum.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with teachers, parents, administrators, and students.
- Commitment to creating a school culture that is caring, collaborative, safe, and responsive to the needs of all students.
- Open to feedback and learning.
Remuneration:
Remuneration is based on experience and qualifications. It also includes housing allowance, free tuition for the first child and a 50% reduction in tuition fees for the second child and others. Basic medical and health insurance is provided.
Start Date:
The position is for 2016 – 2017 and 2016-2018 school years commencing August 1, 2016

9. Librarian (2 openings).
10. Accountant.
The positions (5), (7), (8) are also available for foreigners. Besides requisite qualifications, all candidates are required to have good English skills in order to work efficiently in English working environment. Positions (7), (8) particularly require both English and Korean proficiency. Work experience in international education is a major advantage. Salary and benefits policy will be negotiated right after successful interview.

CISS campus January 21st 2014 marked a new milestone in the history of CISS: the official move to a new “home” at Phu My Hung of CIS. After 9 months of construction, the brand new state-of-the-art PMH campus was finally completed. “It’s the best gift of the year!”
