Manager, Indigenous Initiatives (position #20004038)
The Lincoln Alexander School of Law has designated the Manager, Indigenous Initiatives role for Indigenous people from Turtle Island (North America). This designation reflects our commitment to strengthening Indigenous student pathways in legal education and to advancing the meaningful integration of Indigenous legal traditions, histories, and governance frameworks within the law school. The role contributes to work aligned with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action related to legal education and Indigenous law, including supporting informed understanding of Indigenous-Crown relations and building sustainable institutional capacity for Indigenous legal scholarship and community partnership.
- Completion of a Juris Doctor (JD or LL.B.) and a Master’s degree in Indigenous Studies, Public Policy, Higher Education, Law, Community Development, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of graduate education and relevant experience.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience delivering Indigenous-focused programming, student support, or community initiatives within post-secondary, legal, or community settings, including experience supporting Indigenous student pathways to higher education, law school, or professional licensure.
- Knowledge of Indigenous governance frameworks, legal traditions, and community protocols relevant to supporting Indigenous students and advancing Indigenous legal education.
- Experience designing and delivering initiatives informed by Indigenous cultural safety principles, trauma-informed practices, and community-led approaches.

Register today for the Indigenous Talking Circles!
We are looking for Indigenous students at TMU who are in either 3rd year, 4th year or recent alumni (within 3 years)
These circles will be held in person at GMISS, with lunch and refreshments provided!
We hope for you to share your past participation and experiences with career resources and discuss Indigenous Career Fairs
A gift card will be provided for your time and you only need to attend one circle.
If you cannot attend in person, there are other options available, such as hybrid or virtual, so please ask.
Dates are Tuesday, May 12th, 19th and 26th.
Please register using the Google Form to let us know what time works best for you. Deadline for in-person participation is Friday, May 8th.
