With the end of the semester approaching, we decided to give everyone a break from books and organize our next event at Snakes & Lattes! We are inviting you to join us for our Game Night on December 8, 2021 from 7pm - 10pm at Snakes and Lattes on College Street.

Gather with GESA 04/26/2021

Come celebrate the end of the winter semester with the Graduate Environmental Students' Association! On Friday, April 30 from 5:30-7pm we'll be meeting on gather.town for a chill, stress-free night. GESA students who attend will receive a $15 reimbursement for a meal (we'll send you an e-transfer after the event) so grab some food, grab a drink, and let's celebrate!

If you said yes to any of the above, or your simply want to improve your public speaking skills, check out GESA and the School of the Environment's upcoming Virtual Stage Presence Workshop hosted by Will Greenblatt on Friday, April 30th from 10am to 12pm.

In this interactive online workshop, Will Greenblatt, co-founder of the OutLoud Speakers School (https://outloudnow.com/), breaks down the fundamentals of good communication and public speaking skills, imparting participants with the knowledge and tools to deliver effective and engaging presentations through Zoom . This online-only event is restricted to current School of the Environment graduate students.

Rotman Net Impact is hosting the 3rd Annual Sustainability Conference on 25th March from 11:15 am to 3:30 pm. We have a host of panelists in the climate-change space including:

We were hoping that GESA could send out a blast to CS students to inform them about the event and provide registration details. System Change for Health in the Climate Crisis - A panel discussion featuring leaders in the climate change and health spaces

Presented by: Emerging Leaders for Environmental Sustainability in Health (ELESH) as part of UTERNS EcoFest

Abstract: The climate crisis has been called the greatest threat to human health. If you feel overwhelmed and powerless, you’re not alone. How do we move from deep concern to real action on climate, understanding that the climate crisis is both perpetuated by the health sector and is an existential threat to health? Emerging Leaders for Environmental Sustainability in Healthcare (ELESH) are pleased to present a panel discussion on ‘System change for health in the climate crisis’ featuring leaders in the climate change and health spaces. Attendees can expect to leave with concrete actions they can take to confront the climate crisis and lead the way toward a better, more sustainable world.

ELESH: Emerging Leaders for Environmental Sustainability in Healthcare is UofT’s only multidisciplinary group dedicated to education and advocacy at the intersection of health, healthcare, and sustainability to foster the development of health sector leaders in sustainability.

The University of Toronto Graduate Students’ Union (UTGSU) Census Ad-Hoc Committee is excited to announce the first Graduate Student Census, created for students by students. This survey was designed based on input and feedback from hundreds of graduate students
and graduate student groups across UofT. Its purpose is to collect data about the graduate student experience and well-being at UofT that the UTGSU can use to create and advocate for improved student experience.

The survey takes approximately 10-25 minutes to complete and covers a variety of student issues including but not limited to funding, academic resources, student life and recreation, mental health, harassment and prejudice on campus, and accessibility.

Greening Healthcare Case Challenge Showcase

Are you interested in environmental sustainability and healthcare? The Greening Healthcare Case Challenge has brought together interdisciplinary students from across University of Toronto to develop solutions towards greener and more sustainable care!

At the showcase event, teams will present their ideas to an audience and panel of esteemed judges for a chance to win cash prizes.
