The judge isn’t going to read your texts. Your lawyer is.
And if your lawyer has to scroll through 4,000 messages to find the three that matter — you’re paying for that. In money. In time. In the witness stand falling flat.
Start today. Open a free Google Doc. Title it “Communication Log.” Every time your co-parent sends something that shows a pattern — late pickups, name-calling, refusing to follow the schedule, talking through the kids — copy it in with:
📅 Date and time
📱 Platform (text, email, OFW, in person)
📝 What happened in one sentence
👶 Who was present (especially the kids)
That’s it. No commentary. No emotion. Just facts.
Why this matters: patterns win cases. One bad text is “a bad day.” Forty bad texts over six months is a documented pattern of behavior. Judges respond to patterns.
You don’t have to remember everything. You just have to write it down once.
