Yesterday, our students had the opportunity to meet local authors, hear the stories behind their books, ask thoughtful questions, and discover what it takes to bring an idea from imagination to publication. From signed books to inspiring conversations, the visit gave students a firsthand look at the creative process and the many possibilities that begin with a love of reading and writing.

SLI The Sidney Ledson School has been ranked #2 in Canada on the Grade 6 School Honour Roll of the Mathematica Centrum Pythagoras Contest, among 368 participating schools nationwide.

Congratulations to our students for their hard work, perseverance, and enthusiasm for mathematics. We are equally grateful to our dedicated teachers and supportive families who help foster a culture where academic excellence can thrive.

They may be only 6 and 7 years old, but they are already exploring the building blocks of computer programming and computational thinking while developing the strong academic foundations that support lifelong learning.

The future of policing is changing, and our students had the chance to see it firsthand.

This week, SLI students welcomed members of the Toronto Police Service for an engaging visit that combined community safety, technology, and plenty of curiosity. Students explored a police vehicle, learned about some of the advanced tools and technologies that help officers do their work, and asked thoughtful questions throughout the presentation.

We are grateful to the officers who took the time to share their experiences and help our students learn more about the people and technology working together to keep our communities safe.

It was wonderful to welcome former students back to SLI for our Alumni Reunion. From chess matches and photo booths to conversations about school, university, careers, and future plans, the evening brought together students past and present in a celebration of connection, friendship, and community.

Seeing alumni reconnect with classmates, teachers, and mentors was a reminder that the relationships formed at SLI continue long after graduation. We enjoyed hearing about their journeys, achievements, and aspirations, and look forward to following their continued successes.

Our students recently visited Arcadia Earth, where technology, science, and environmental education came together in an engaging and thought-provoking experience.

Through a series of immersive exhibits, students explored topics such as biodiversity, ecosystems, pollution, sustainability, and the impact of everyday choices on our planet. The interactive environment encouraged observation, discussion, and critical thinking while bringing important environmental concepts to life.
