Our preschool campers love gathering together to listen, imagine, ask questions, and discover new words along the way. It is a simple part of the day that helps build early literacy, language development, and a lifelong love of reading.

Summer camp adventures continued outdoors as our campers explored the natural spaces surrounding the school. Time outside encourages curiosity, observation, teamwork, and plenty of opportunities to discover something new while enjoying the beautiful summer weather. 🌿☀️

Messy science is often the most memorable. Students put their creativity and problem solving to work as they designed, built, tested, and refined their experiments, discovering that some of the best learning happens through hands-on exploration. 🧪🔬✨

Our science-themed week took learning beyond the classroom as students brought their experiments outdoors. Exploring scientific concepts in a new environment encouraged observation, curiosity, collaboration, and plenty of excitement as discoveries unfolded together. 🌿🔬☀️

Campers used paint and mixed media materials as part of this week’s afternoon theme activity, creating collaborative artwork while developing creativity, teamwork, and artistic expression.

Year-end celebration week for our younger students included plenty of opportunities to play, explore, and connect with friends. From playground adventures and group activities to outdoor story time and shared laughter, students enjoyed celebrating the end of another wonderful year together. It was also a wonderful opportunity for students and teachers to enjoy these experiences side by side, creating joyful memories and strengthening the sense of community that makes SLI so special. ☀️📚🌳

We were honoured to welcome MP Maggie Chi, Member of Parliament for Don Valley North, who presented graduating student Aiden Chen with her Citizenship Award.

This recognition celebrates character, leadership, personal growth, and a commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others. We are proud to see these qualities reflected in our students and recognized beyond the classroom.

Yesterday, our students had the opportunity to meet local authors, hear the stories behind their books, ask thoughtful questions, and discover what it takes to bring an idea from imagination to publication. From signed books to inspiring conversations, the visit gave students a firsthand look at the creative process and the many possibilities that begin with a love of reading and writing.

SLI The Sidney Ledson School has been ranked #2 in Canada on the Grade 6 School Honour Roll of the Mathematica Centrum Pythagoras Contest, among 368 participating schools nationwide.

Congratulations to our students for their hard work, perseverance, and enthusiasm for mathematics. We are equally grateful to our dedicated teachers and supportive families who help foster a culture where academic excellence can thrive.

They may be only 6 and 7 years old, but they are already exploring the building blocks of computer programming and computational thinking while developing the strong academic foundations that support lifelong learning.
