Become a mentor to help an immigrant professional reconnect with their career in Canada while developing your own leadership and cross-cultural skills.

Canada's economic advantage has never been our ability to attract talent alone. It is our ability to unlock its full potential.

TRIEC CEO Simon Trevarthen brings that perspective to New Canadian Media's latest story on a new federal deadline shaping how long newcomers can access settlement services. In this piece, he reflects on credential recognition, licensing, and career rebuilding rarely happen on a short timeline. The journey is often longer still for accompanying spouses balancing caregiving and family responsibilities.

For more than two decades, TRIEC has worked alongside employers, mentors, and community partners to help build those bridges, connecting immigrant talent to opportunity and strengthening our economy in the process.

Thank you New Canadian Media for spotlighting this important conversation. Read the full story:

“Everything’s fine’ isn’t a growth plan.”

Employers: Are your managers equipped to understand how lived experience shapes performance, perspective, and potential?

Through LIFT, Parth Vyas, Senior Manager Engineering at Achievers, had a powerful realization: people’s backgrounds, environments, and communities influence how they see the world — and how they show up at work. When managers acknowledge this, coaching becomes more human, effective, and impactful.

LIFT helps managers build the awareness, language, and tools to lead inclusive, high-performing teams and have deeper development conversations.

Thank you to Achievers for your collaboration and to Future Skills Centre for supporting LIFT’s pilot (CAIP).

📣 Recognizing National Indigenous History Month

June is National Indigenous History Month. A time to reflect and honour the rich histories, cultures, contributions and enduring resilience of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.

It is also an opportunity to deepen our understanding of the truths of this land and reflect on the role each of us can play in advancing reconciliation.

At TRIEC, we believe that stronger communities and workplaces are built through learning, understanding, and respect. As we work to help talented individuals fully contribute their skills and potential, we recognize the importance of understanding Indigenous histories and perspectives and the role they play in shaping Canada today.

We encourage our network to explore Indigenous stories, voices, and resources, and to continue building their understanding of Indigenous histories, cultures, and perspectives.

📚 Start here:

You can also visit GCIndigenous and GCReconciliation to learn more about Indigenous voices and stories.

Reconciliation is an ongoing journey. One that requires commitment, understanding, and action from all of us.

a strong workforce starts with ensuring everyone has the opportunity to participate, contribute, and thrive.

From May 31 to June 6, Canada marks National AccessAbility Week, a time to recognize the contributions, leadership and talents of persons with disabilities and reflect on the role accessibility plays in creating stronger workplaces and communities.

This year’s theme, ‘Building a Strong, Accessible Canada’ reminds us that stronger workplaces and communities are built when everyone can fully participate and contribute their skills.

At TRIEC, we believe stronger workplaces are built when talent is recognized, valued, and supported. Accessibility plays a critical role in making that possible. When barriers are removed, individuals can contribute their skills and expertise, organizations gain access to a broader pool of talent, and workplaces become stronger, more innovative, and more inclusive.

Creating a more accessible Canada is a shared responsibility, and one that benefits individuals, organizations, communities, and our economy alike.

As we mark National AccessAbility Week, we are highlighting the importance of accessibility in creating workplaces where everyone has the opportunity to participate, contribute, and thrive.

The National AccessAbility Week toolkit developed by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) provides resources to help organizations, partners, and stakeholders promote accessibility and inclusion.

👉 We encourage you to explore the toolkit here: https://www.canada.ca/en/employment-social-development/campaigns/national-accessability-week.html

“The power of investing in real connections.”

Employers: Do your teams know how to build the relationships that fuel mobility and performance?

Through LIFT, Irina Jamois i Ruiz at Achievers discovered that authentic, cross-team relationships — not transactional networking — open doors and strengthen career mobility.

LIFT helps employees and managers build meaningful connections that boost belonging and drive organizational performance.
