Virtual Urgent Care | SickKids

Virtual urgent care visits are available between 10 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. To be eligible for a virtual urgent care visit, you or your child/youth must:
• currently live in our virtual urgent care service region (PDF)
• have a valid OHIP health card
• be under the age of 18
The Symptom Checker is available 24/7 to patients in our virtual urgent care service region (PDF) to help determine if your concern needs an emergency department visit or could be treated by your primary care provider.
When you begin your virtual urgent care experience a new web page will open where you will be asked to fill in your/your child’s name and other information. Next you will be able to select a concern from a list and include a secondary symptom (e.g. fever). Using this information, the built-in symptom checker will guide you to the most appropriate care setting based on the information provided. This may include:
• A recommendation to visit a primary care provider (paediatrician, family physician, nurse practitioner), along with educational supports to manage your concern
• A recommendation to visit your local emergency department
• A virtual urgent care visit with a member of the SickKids Emergency Department clinical team, for those who are eligible

The City of Toronto has a free youth Employment Readiness Program, called Building Skills Through Recreation. Building Skills Through
Recreation’ (BSTR) is a leadership program that builds and develops youths’ (aged 14-24) interpersonal skills, workplace specific knowledge, and employment acuity.
Participating youth will receive:
- a certification of completion that they can upload to their Success Factor portal (City of Toronto's portal for candidates and employees)
- an internal reference letter
- free Standard 1st Aid certification (WOW!!), and
- a guaranteed screen through to interview within Parks Forestry & Recreation entry level position of their choice.

TPS 2SLGBTQ+ CCC - Youth Access Bursary 2022
The bursary awards are an opportunity for the 2SLGBTQ+ Community Consultative Committee (2SLGBTQ+ CCC) and Toronto Police Service to recognize achievements made by 2SLGBTQ+ youth in the City of Toronto and support these youth in overcoming challenges they often face.
Applications are open from September 28th, 2022 until November 2, 2022.
There are up to three $1000 bursaries available.
CRITERIA FOR 2SLGBTQ+ YOUTH ACCESS BURSARY
The following is a list of criteria for the Toronto Police Services 2SLGBTQ+ Youth Bursary Award:
- The award is to be granted to a 2SLGBTQ+ youth between the ages of 17 and 26 years.
- The award is to be used exclusively for postsecondary educational tuition costs. Payment will be made directly to the educational institution.
- The award is to be granted for contributions to 2SLGBTQ+ community in the catchment area serviced by the Toronto Police Service.
- To be eligible for the award, nominees must have residency or refugee status in Canada.
- Past bursary recipients are no longer eligible.
