Our Grade 8 students impressed The York School community at the Science Extravaganza!

Students chose real-world issues they cared about, designed their own experiments and presented their findings to parents, teachers and classmates. Thank you to everyone who came out to support them. We are incredibly proud of the critical thinking and scientific inquiry skills they are developing!

Three days, endless adventures and memories to last a lifetime! In early June, our Grade 5 students embraced every challenge at Camp New Moon, climbing, hiking, testing their aim in archery, conquering the ropes course and working together through exciting team activities. Filled with laughter, friendship and plenty of time outdoors, the trip was the perfect way to celebrate a year of growth and build confidence for the adventures that await in Grade 6.

Today, our community came together to celebrate the incredible Class of 2026 and the culmination of their journey with The York School!
From your very first day to this final cap toss, you’ve treated every challenge as an opportunity to learn and grow, both academically and personally. As a community, we couldn't be prouder of everything you’ve accomplished.
We will miss your energy and enthusiasm, but we’re excited to see where your adventures lead you. Take York’s values of curiosity, challenge and community with you – and we know that you’ll continue to question, grow and make the world a better place.
We’ll be cheering you on every step of the way!

And just like that, the Grade 12 Grad Retreat has come to a close! From June 1–3, our seniors headed to Camp Onondaga for three unforgettable days of connection, community and celebration. As an extension of their IB experience at York, the retreat offered students an opportunity to reflect on their journey together while looking ahead to the exciting adventures waiting for them after graduation.
From high ropes, and paddling on the lake to field games, sports, and campfire stories, the Class of 2026 made memories that will last a lifetime.

Our Grade 5 students recently visited the Art Gallery of Ontario as part of their current Unit of Inquiry, 'How We Express Ourselves'. Through guided tours and a hands-on workshop, students explored works by First Nations, Métis and Inuit artists while discovering how art can reflect identity, culture, community and storytelling. In the studio, students reimagined everyday objects and images to create textured compositions inspired by Indigenous artistic expression and narrative traditions.
