Clay, creativity, and culture came together at Harbourfront Centre! During the school year, students explored mask-making traditions from around the world, discovering how art can share stories, represent identities, and connect us across cultures. Inspired by their learning, they shaped their own clay masks using new ceramic techniques and brought their ideas to life.

Learning goes off the tracks! Our students visited the Toronto Railway Museum to bring their unit on transportation to life. Exploring an authentic 1900s train car and testing their skills on the train driving simulator made for a day full of hands-on discovery.

Curiosity turned into discovery at this year's Integrated Canadian Experience Showcase! Our Grade 9 students took center stage to share their unique perspectives on Canadian Identity. Through interactive classroom exhibits and powerful presentations, they showed the critical thinking and creativity that define the Integrated Canadian Experience program. Thank you to the parents, staff, and community members who came out to support our students!

Learning about government where it happens gives students a unique perspective! Grade 5 students visited the Legislative Assembly of Ontario to explore the chambers, discover how laws are made, and learn about the important role Parliament plays in serving our communities. This hands-on experience brought their How We Organize Ourselves unit of inquiry to life, deepening their understanding of government, citizenship and the responsibilities we all share in building strong communities.

What does it take to make game day happen? During the school year, as part of their How We Organize Ourselves unit of inquiry, our students explored the behind-the-scenes operations at Scotiabank Arena, discovering how teamwork, planning and organization keep one of Canada’s busiest venues running smoothly. It was an exciting opportunity to see community systems in action!

Looking back on an unforgettable spring adventure at Norval! Our Grade 4 students designed, decorated, and built their own Paddle-to-the-Sea boats before proudly launching them into the water, discovering how local waterways connect to a much bigger journey. Along the way, they explored teamwork, leadership, and the natural world through hands-on outdoor activities, making memories that will travel just as far as their boats!
