The Sharp Centre for Design appears to float above a Toronto street, supported by 12 multicolored steel legs.

Designed by Will Alsop and completed in 2004, the two-story black-and-white volume was raised above OCAD University’s existing campus, making the building look more like an inhabited object than a conventional school extension.
