Life rarely unfolds as planned. What happens when setbacks strike, whether in business, health, or life? In our feature, “Resilience: Lessons Forged Through Adversity,” alumni Alex Mihailidis ’92, Peter Aceto ’87, Andrew Herring ’22, Chris Beck ’87, and Jason Koulouras ’84 share the lessons they've learned through crisis.

You'll also read about Yael Maguire ’93, whose work has helped shape Google Maps, in “Maps With Purpose,” and Justin Woo '01, whose corporate strategic planning and passion for sport led him to be the Chief Financial Officer of Nike Korea, profiled in "Built on Grit and Drive."

Yesterday, we welcomed families, faculty, and staff to the Hudson Family Field House for Graduation, celebrating the achievements and growth of the Class of 2026. As they leave Crescent, they are equipped to embrace new challenges and make a positive impact as Men of Character. We look forward to welcoming them back to campus in the years ahead as valued alumni. To the Class of 2026 and your families, it was a joy to celebrate alongside you yesterday. We wish you a fun, happy, and healthy summer break!

Today’s Closing Ceremonies honoured our students in Grades 9–11 in a colourful event that saw the boys don their House Colours and display their House pride. The event celebrated the vast breadth of student engagement across the School’s Character-in-Action programs, which were highlighted with individual year-in-review segments, often with dramatic flair. Special honours were given to those who took the stage to accept the many awards and accolades they had earned throughout the year. The audience also heard from Head Boy Oscar Benitah ’26, with his final address to the school community. This was the third of our three Closing Ceremonies (with Graduation tomorrow) and marked the official end of the 2025-2026 school year. Have a great summer, boys. We’ll see you in September!

This afternoon, we welcomed our Middle School families to celebrate the Grade 7 & 8 boys at their Closing Ceremonies. The event included musical performances, dramatic sketches, and the presentation of many awards. Grade 8 students crossed the stage and shook Mr. Hunter’s hand as he symbolically welcomed them into the Upper School. Congratulations to all our Middle School boys, and especially our Grade 8 graduates.

Today, we celebrated our Lower School boys at their Closing Ceremonies. They gave moving performances and earned awards, certificates and diplomas, showing us all they had accomplished this year—and it was a lot! Congratulations to all of our boys, and especially to our graduating Grade 6s, who are entering the Middle School in September.

The annual Crescent Garage Sale returns this Saturday from 8:00–11:00 a.m. in the Field House, bringing together shoppers from across the GTA and the Crescent community for a morning of bargain hunting, treasure seeking, and great community spirit.
From household treasures and sports equipment to designer labels, electronics, toys, and more, there’s something for everyone — and admission is free!
A huge thank you to the incredible parent volunteers who help transform the Field House into a one-day marketplace and make this beloved tradition possible year after year. We can’t wait to see you there!

Grandparents’ Day filled the Lower School with music, laughter, and connections as grandparents and special grandfriends experienced Crescent through their grandsons’ eyes. From musical performances and dramatic storytelling to lively jazz improvisation, students proudly showcased their creativity and confidence. The celebration concluded with student-led tours, giving guests a special glimpse into the spaces and experiences that shape daily life in the Lower School.

All week long, Crescent School celebrated Pride and this year’s theme SHINE, an acronym for Speak kindly, Hold space for others, Identify your strengths, Name what helps you shine, and Express gratitude and appreciation. Students participated in age-appropriate activities and discussions, our school libraries displayed a curated selection of thematic books, and we welcomed Lower School Crescent parent Christina Sorbara, who shared a reading of her children’s book, Growing In Mamma’s Tummy and In Mommy’s Heart, about a le***an couple’s journey to parenthood. The week concluded with a dance performance by the Prefect Team at our final full-school assembly and a rainbow spirit dress day. While the flagpoles have been temporarily removed due to construction, we honour a virtual Pride flag raising in our post today.

Our Middle School students traded classrooms for caves during an unforgettable overnight adventure at Science North in Sudbury on May 13 & 14. From touring the nickel mine at Dynamic Earth and polishing their own gemstones to coding a programmable “astronaut” across the Moon’s surface, the boys explored science through hands-on discovery. The excitement continued with exclusive access to Science North, an interactive show about fluids, and an inspiring IMAX feature on the late Dr. Jane Goodall. Sleeping in the rock caverns beneath the museum made the whole experience feel like a real-life Night at the Museum—science edition!
