William Burgess E.S. Centennial

William Burgess Elementary School, in East York (Toronto, Ontario), is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2014!

This page was created to celebrate the centennial of William Burgess Elementary School in 2014/15. A committee of volunteers helped organize an open house that year. It was a great day, and followed-up on on many of the activities that students, teachers, and staff worked on throughout the year. I am keeping the page open to visitors, but won't be adding anything. This is not the official site for William Burgess, which is served by a TDSB website and a parent council site.

According to a well-placed source, one centennial celebration attendee managed to snag five (small) piece of the birthday cake. Congrats to that bold cake-lover, and thanks to everyone for being a part of that great day!

I had many favourite moments yesterday, including:
-Seeing, and hearing!, former alumni and staff reunite
-The alumni speeches during the ceremony
-The children's choir
-And watching current students enjoy the day, knowing how lucky they were to be part of a such a great school with such a great tradition!
