🎓🎊 And that’s a wrap on 2025-2026! Last week, we celebrated the year and the accomplishments of the community with our annual Awards Assembly and Celebration Day. Have a restful and fun summer, Greenwood!
Greenwood College School
Founded in 2002, we are a Toronto-based, gender inclusive independent school for Grades 7-12.
In 2001, one of Greenwood’s founders, a successful wealth manager, lawyer and entrepreneur, realized that the people who made the greatest contributions to society were rarely those who had chosen a narrow, traditional path. Instead, they were those who paired an independent spirit with a deeper sense of character, and were as energized by challenge as they were by success. Our four founders - Ric
Where did the time go? Celebration Day is now only two weeks away! Since students are focused on final evaluations and the Greenwood team is busy preparing for June 12, you’ll see fewer posts on this platform in the weeks to come. Yesterday, the Grade 11 Technological Design Class hosted Grades 1 and 2 students from Davisville Public School for an Innovation Lab tour. The Grade 11s had buddied up with the Davisville students, designing games for them this year. The Greenwood students welcomed their "reviewers" to the Lab to show them around and play the creations. Creativity and leadership in action!
During Community Time, the Class of 2026 held the annual Grad Assembly in which they celebrated their time at Greenwood and reflected on their journeys here. Thanks for the amazing assembly and for being fantastic leaders, Class of 2026! 🎊

On Tuesday, we were excited to welcome guest speaker Kevin Murphy who spoke to students in our Musical Theatre class and from our production of "The Prom". Kevin is a screenwriter, television producer, lyricist and composer and he famously wrote and produced "Desperate Housewives" and adapted "Heathers" into a stage musical. Kevin delved deep into what the audition process is like for a typical film or theatre project - mentioning how for "Heathers: the Musical", he and his team had to review more than 6,000 taped auditions. He provided tips on the Dos and Don'ts of audition tapes and answered student questions at the end of his talk. Thank you for visiting Greenwood, Kevin!

Today, the Grade 8s hosted Greenwood’s very first Niche Expo! This event was the result of the many hours students spent with their community outreach partners, volunteering and assembling their projects in order to truly find their niche in service learning. Thank you to all of the community outreach partners, parents/guardians and Grade 7s for coming out and giving your full support for these projects. Congratulations to the Grade 8s for putting on a fantastic expo!

At last week’s middle school assembly, we recognized several Grade 7 and 8 students for their outstanding performance during service learning this year. Congratulations to the award’s recipients and all Grade 7s and 8s for their amazing work during their service learning sessions! In place of tomorrow’s usual service learning, the Grade 8s will showcase their “Finding Your Niche” lab projects at the Niche Expo, with the Grade 7s and community outreach partners in attendance.
What an amazing day for Spirit Day 2026! Thank you to everybody who brought their spirit to today’s events. And a big thank you to Ms. King, Ms. Girvan, staff, House execs, House captains and Grade 12s for making today such smooth sailing. Have a great long weekend, Greenwood! Wait to see on Celebration Day which House wins the House Cup. 🏆

To celebrate Asian Heritage Month and Jewish Heritage Month, the IBP Committee organized a Snack-Tasting event at lunch yesterday! Some dishes included the Thai classic of mango sticky rice and babka, a Jewish dessert consisting of braided bread and a chocolate filling. In order to get a taste of these delicious dishes, students and staff had to explore an information sheet about the food's origin and relay a fun fact about the food to the Committee members.
