As Shavuot approaches, our students explored the delicious tradition of eating dairy foods, symbolizing the Jewish connection to the Land of Israel—the land of milk and honey.
This week, students learned how to make Labane, a traditional Middle Eastern soft cheese made by straining yogurt. From preparing the yogurt to adding salt and olive oil, students experienced the process firsthand and created their very own batch to bring home and share with their families.
Wishing our community a joyful and meaningful Shavuot!

Shabbat Shalom!
שבת שלום
Today, our MJDS community came together for a beautiful Kabbalat Shabbat, filled with song, warmth, and connection!
We also celebrated Rosh Chodesh Iyar, the beginning of a new month in the Jewish calendar, a time that invites reflection, growth, and renewal. The soft glow of tea lights spelling MJDS reminded us of the light we create together as a community.
May this new month bring healing, strength, and continued moments of meaning and joy.
