Today we focused on learning to write the letter S using the Orton-Gillingham approach! 🐍✏️

Children learn best when they can see it, say it, trace it, and write it. We started by introducing the letter and its sound, then used multisensory activities like sky writing, finger tracing, and writing in different textures before moving to paper. This structured, hands-on approach helps build strong letter formation, memory, and confidence—one step at a time!

Learning through movement and play makes writing meaningful and fun for every child. 💛

Watching confidence grow is one of the best parts of tutoring. Today, as my student was leaving, she turned back and said, “Bye, I love you.” That simple moment meant so much. It reminded me that learning isn’t just about academics—it’s about building trust, safety, and connection. Grateful for these little milestones that show real growth.

When a child looks at a word and gets stuck… it’s often not because they don’t know their letters. It’s because they haven’t yet learned how to blend the sounds together. 💛

Blending is the bridge between knowing letter sounds and actually reading words. Through fun, hands-on games and movement-based activities, children learn to smoothly connect sounds into words instead of guessing.

With consistent practice, those frustrating moments become exciting “I can read it!” moments. Every little success builds confidence and creates a stronger, happier reader.

Keep it playful. Keep it positive. Keep blending! 📚✨

These are not your average classroom rule cards, I believe learning is a positive experience, so I designed these cards to focus on the positive. Instead of just talking about rules.
There are two headers…
What we are proud of and What we are working one….
Place the headers in a good place and add the cards as your students master them….
Focusing on positive rather than negative…
