📍 CDTPS administrative offices relocating
The Centre for Drama, Theatre & Performance Studies will be moving its administrative offices from 79 St. George Street to new spaces at University College.
Beginning July 6, 2026, you can find us at:

The BMO Lab will also be moving into our new spaces in early July.
CDTPS will continue to maintain the following teaching and performance spaces:
•The Playhouse Theatre
•Luella Massey Theatre
•Leonard Common Room
Please note that beginning in September, the CDTPS will no longer have access to:
•The Front & Long Rooms
•The Performance Studio
•The Design Studio
•The Walden Room
•All Second and Third floor Admin and Staff Offices
We’re moving into a newly renovated, state-of-the-art facility featuring:
•A reconfigurable black box theatre and rehearsal studio
•Modern seminar rooms and student lounges
•Hoteling workspaces and a cutting-edge studio for the BMO Lab for Creative Research in the Arts, Performance, Emerging Technologies and AI
•A brand-new design studio
We look forward to welcoming students, faculty, staff, alumni, and visitors to our new space this summer.

🎠Alumni Spotlight: Kevin Matthew Wong (HBA 2016)
Kevin Matthew Wong is a Toronto-based theatre creator, producer, and video artist whose work spans Canada and the international stage, with collaborations across Europe, Australia, and North America.
A Hakka Chinese-Canadian artist, Kevin’s work explores identity, migration, and cultural memory. His acclaimed Benevolence series traces the history and legacy of the Hakka diaspora through performance, film and installation—and has earned major recognition including a Dora Award.
Kevin is also a leader in the sector as executive producer and artistic associate at Why Not Theatre, where he helps bring large-scale productions to audiences around the world.

🎓⚽ Congratulations to undergraduate alumna and drama major Hannah Chown!
Hannah will receive her master’s degree in teaching from OISE this June. Alongside her passion for theatre, she has been deeply involved in soccer— playing as a semi-professional athlete with Simcoe County Rovers FC and previously serving as captain of the Varsity Blues women’s soccer team.
We’re thrilled to see her achievements recognized in U of T News!

🎠CDTPS Alumni Spotlight: Marley Kajan (MA 2020)
From the Niagara Region to Toronto’s stages and screens, Marley Kajan is making her mark as an actor, writer, and producer. Since completing her MA at the Centre for Drama, Theatre & Performance Studies, Marley has co-created and produced the original comedy series Like Comment Subscribe—which recently premiered at Toronto Sketchfest after a year on the festival circuit.
At CDTPS, Marley developed her skills as both an artist and critical thinker, culminating in a hybrid thesis project and shaped by mentors like Djanet Sears.
Now, Marley is building her on-camera career, working across film, television, and even virtual reality production.
