Early identification of Giftedness is vital!

The biggest challenges faced by Gifted children result from "Asynchrony”:

By definition, truly Gifted children are out of sync. These children develop cognitively at a much faster rate than they develop physically and emotionally. Thus, these children have an awareness of information that they are not yet emotionally ready to handle.

Moreover, they tend to experience all of life with great intensity, do not fit the developmental norms for their age, and advanced interests and academic strengths tend to place them far ahead of their age peers.
