Musical Advent Day 23: Today's selection is a dramatic medley of "Joy to the World" and "Trepak" (from the Nutcracker.) This piece is arranged by Wendy Stevens. It includes a special technique called tremolo - listen for the rolling left hand in the middle and the end of this performance.

And that's a wrap for Musical Advent 2025. Thanks to everyone who participated, and thanks for watching! I wish all of my piano families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! See you in 2026!
Musical Advent Day 24: Christmas is upon us, so it seems fitting to end this year's Musical Advent with this famous piece from A Charlie Brown Christmas. Here is "Christmas Time is Here" by Vince Guaraldi.
Musical Advent Day 22B: The second selection for today is the uplifting Christmas carol, "Joy to the World," an 18th century carol by Isaac Watts. Isaac Watts is considered to be the “father of English hymns,” having penned more than 750 hymns. This is another arrangement by Andrea Dow.
Musical Advent Day 22A: The first selection for today is "Good King Wenceslas." This song is about a real king, Wenceslaus I, Duke of Bohemia. He was also known as Vaclac the Good, or Svatý Václav in Czech and lived from c.907 to 28 September 935. This piano version is an arrangement by Andrea Dow.
