"Tangled’s Tenth marks the tenth anniversary of Tangled Art Gallery, bringing together fourteen artists working across painting, sculpture, textile, performance, video, glass, and self-publishing practices. This exhibition offers a snapshot of a field that has grown in depth, complexity, and confidence over the past decade... Curated from Tangled’s recent open calls, the artists in this exhibition represent a wide range of approaches, aesthetics, experiences, and relationships to disability culture. Some works engage disability directly; others approach it obliquely, through material experimentation, storytelling, abstraction, performance, humour, memory, or acts of world-building. Together, they challenge the tendency to flatten disability into a one-dimensional experience, revealing instead the complexity, multiplicity, and contradiction that make room for many stories of disability."

Meet some new friends at our MMSt Orientation Social🍻 Join M***A () and MPOC (.uoft) at Trinity Common (303 Augusta Ave, Toronto, ON M5T 2M2) on Friday September 11th from 4:30-6:30pm to end off the MMSt scavenger hunt and connect with fellow classmates!

Please RSVP by Tuesday, September 8th at 5pm to save a spot! Priority will be given to first year MMSt and CDP students.

🔍Interested in finding hidden spots on campus? Exploring local museums? Whether you’re a first-year or returning student, we invite you to participate in the MMSt Scavenger Hunt, co-hosted by the MMSt program, Master of Museum Studies Student Association (M***A), and Museum Professionals of Colour (MPOC). Meet other students and team up to find public art, historic buildings, special collections, and more! Join us on Thursday, September 10th at 4PM outside 230 College Street to be placed on a team and receive your Scavenger Hunt booklet. We look forward to seeing you then!

🗓️Date: Thursday, September 10

⏰Start time: 4:00 pm

📍Starting location: Outside 230 College Street (entrance to the Student Commons Building) *If you are enrolled in MSL3900H, you will already be in this building.

⏱️Length of activity: Flexible. We estimate 90 minutes, but this can be done at your own pace. The hunt will officially end the following day, Friday, September 11 at the M***A/MPOC orientation social where we will announce the winners and award prizes to the top three teams (winners will also be announced on M***A and MPOC’s Instagram).

🎒What to bring: All sites are on St. George campus and are accessible. Many are outdoors. Dress for the weather and travel light if you can.

"The ArQuives is one of the largest independent 2SLGBTQIA+ archives in the world and the only archive in Canada with a mandate to collect at a national level. Founded out of The Body Politic newspaper collection in 1973, its mandate is to safeguard the 2SLGBTQIA+ history of Canada. The archives formally incorporated in 1980 and following a legal challenge was granted charitable status in 1981. Today, The ArQuives preserves a wide range of material including personal and organizational papers, books, monographs, photographs, moving images, sound recordings, periodicals, artifacts (like buttons, board games, t-shirts, and banners), and other reference material."

Join us on a curator led tour of Linda Rotua Sormin: Uncertain Ground at the Gardiner Museum on March 19 from 2-4pm! 🎨

The tour is open to both MMSt and CDP students, and costs $11 to attend. Capacity is limited so make sure to RSVP in the Eventbrite link in our bio to reserve a spot and e-transfer $11 to [email protected] with the note "Gardiner Tour".

"Linda Rotua Sormin: Uncertain Ground is the culmination of over 20 years of remarkable exploration and innovation, bringing together clay, sculpture, video, sound, hand-cut watercolour painting, and digital fabrication in a multi-sensory environment where roosters, tigers, dragons, and sacred texts serve as portals into ancient knowledge. The exhibition asks how life in the modern, cosmopolitan city can coexist with memories and experiences of our ancestral traditions."
