This week is My House 's first even JUNCTION JAZZ FESTIVAL! I'm very excited to be performing with a number of ensembles including in a HERBIE HANCOCK tribute this Wednesday, with Brownman's latin-jazz ARECIBO on Friday, a FRANK SINATRA tribute with the incredible Carlo Berardinucci on Saturday, and then a MILES DAVIS tribute matinee on Sunday!
This is a clip of one of my first ever performances with Brownman's ARECIBO, I was VERY nervous... on stage with me was some of the best latin-jazz musicians in the country, I'd been shedding montunos like crazy in preparation... what a fun night of music! Hailed as “one of the greatest interpreters of Miles Davis' work in Canada” (Hamilton Spectator), multi award-winning trumpet iconoclast Brownman Ali leads a tribute to a pivotal chapters in Miles'history. From 1951 to 1956, Miles would record a string of groundbreaking albums for Prestige Records, including Cookin’, Relaxin’, Workin’, and Steamin’ -- music that blended bebop virtuosity with a cool, lyrical sensibility that reshaped modern jazz. Brownman and a selection of top-shelf jazz artists will explore these recordings channeling the intensity and innovation of Miles’ early genius.

Whew! After some wild shows and amazing audiences in Toronto and Newmarket it is nice to have a couple of days off to recharge! Snaggle hits the road again this Wednesday with a workshop at Huron Heights Secondary courtesy of the Toronto Musicians' Association Music Performance Trust Fund!
Then we hit the road for performances in Kingston, Montreal, Ottawa, and Warkworth, so if you haven't already, get your tickets for some electric-jazz inspired by the great science fiction author Isaac Asimov!
