3 years ago I left my “successful” business because I was so burned out.

I had no plans, I just knew I needed to feel free and alive again. 💫

Today, I’m standing here, traveling and on an adventure to create something exciting and new.

Although I still don't exactly know what the future holds, my gut feeling is telling me I’m headed in the right direction to connect with my heart and soul where my true spirit can shine and serve. 🌟

Thanks everyone who’s here with me, it’s been quite the journey! 🥴
Anyone else going through a transitional time right now? 🙌🏻 We’re in it together!

Be loud and proud of who you really are!

🧧Happy Lunar New Year 🧧

Growing up, I was so afraid of ‘bai nin 拜年’: greeting relatives to welcome the new year. The more ‘senior’ relatives feel entitled to freely give comments and opinions on who you are & who you should be.

We are taught to accept their suggestions with a nice smile 😊(though the red pockets would help) , even though you may not had any contact with them throughout the whole year! It was always an uncomfortable time of the year for me with self doubt & losing trust of myself.

🧧I’m sending you my red pocket of self validation & trust— May you greet & spend time with others for who they are, not the expectation of who they should be, and do the same for yourself. 📣Roar loud and clear 📣

Becoming a tigress 🐅

What quality of Tiger/ tigress would you like to embody?

Strong
Powerful
Fearless
Fierce
Energetic
Confident
Enthusiastic
Courageous

One of my absolute favourite qualities of being a tigeress is
🌈being dynamic: just like a tigeress switching from being fiery and fearless to calm & emotional just in a blink of an eye.

🥛Be the container that can embrace a whole spectrum of great qualities!! We were taught to be either this way or the other.
But just like yin and yang— there are so much in between— and the between is what make us very unique and interesting— because everyone has their own blend.

This past year of Ox is a year of hard work of self reflection and looking inwards.

🐯In this new year of tiger, may you embodies a tigress/ tiger:
be dynamic, colourful, live life fearlessly with great generosity towards ourselves and others! 💛💙💜💚❤️

🌠 Rising from the rocks and ashes

Last week was a recent low point for me. But I didn’t beat myself up.

Sometimes we can spiral 🌀
DOWN
with self doubt and sabotage.

The warrior side of me tell me that I will for sure grow from it, and there’s something that my spirit is showing my ego. I could let my ego gets defensive, but I actively chose not to.

📉 Often when we hit a low point, we want to find faults and explanations. And it often doesn’t come from a place of self compassion.

Choose self compassion towards yourself when you hit low, so when you are ready, this compassion will help you rise higher.

Is my life on hold?

With omicron on the rise, my flights and quarantine accommodation back to Hong Kong have changed so many times and finally got cancelled.

There are so many times we feel like our life is being stuck or because we can’t control our future, and for me— it’s when I can be back home and start teaching yoga in person again.

Choosing to adapt, rather than to control, is a much better navigation skill set.

Not only have I surprised myself in my adaptation to some extreme cold weather, but I have allowed myself to step outside of my usual routine to understand what really hold me back in a day to day pattern.

This requires an adaptation mindset— an understanding that we can always grow and adapt and find tools to support that.

My yoga and meditation practice has been a humbling experience for the last few months— recovering from an injury where I could barely lift my arm, adding much more bodywork (& love & care towards myself) and functional movement to truly make myself feel & move better.

This quality has been reflected in my life off the mat.

🎺 Few tips to triumph over your fear

When was the last time you act on based on fear? If I have to be honest with you, I catch myself doing it all of time.

👏🏻Recognise WHEN we act based on our fear is the first step👏🏻

Whenever we catch ourselves 🤔: I don’t want to do this because I’m afraid of …🙀
🤜That’s exactly when fear takes over your decision making🤛

Take a few breaths connecting to any sensation/ feeling in your body,
THEN ask yourself:
➡️ Where does this fear come from?
➡️ How much of it is true in my life?
➡️ What’s the opportunity if I don’t act on this fear?

🙌🏻 YOU GOT THIS 🙌🏻 Now we are on the warrior path that triumph over your fear & take charge of the life you most desired 🏆

Should I still say it to others when it’s no longer Jan 1? And I didn’t start the new year in the happiest way possible (like 75% of you guys)?

Often we use the New Year & holidays as a reason to celebrate or to give us a new start, out of our autopilot life.

But what if we allow more of these occasions happening and also to remind ourselves that we have the power to make the choice of ☄️ a new start ☄️ more often?

Why meditation doesn’t work for a lot of people nowadays

We have all heard of the benefits of meditation, but a lot of people still don’t think meditation WORKS for them. Here’s why:

👉🏻Sitting in meditation was too uncomfortable
👉🏻”It’s boring/ will make me numb or emotional-less ”
👉🏻”I’m not into spiritual stuff”
👉🏻”I can be chill AF during meditation but once I open my eyes— life continues as usual with anxieties & overthinking, etc. “
🙈My meditation journey was a very uncomfortable one to start with, and I had shared all the above thoughts/ reasons before!

Even with a 200 hr yoga teacher training in yoga & meditation, sometimes I struggled with the relevance and effectiveness of my meditation practice in my life,
until I started practising ✨ the 8 phase meditation which rewires how I think ✨and 🤜 it’s 120% applicable to modern day life🤛!
