LOUNGE PANTS-Starting October 3rd!

Cozy pants season is upon us! Lounge pants with an elastic waistband are the perfect cozy pants and the perfect first garment project!

Making these basic pants will help you conceptualize how garments come together. You’ll learn how to French seam…and seriously level up your sewing game.

The style is unisex and for all bodies and sizes. We will make them custom to your fit-tapered or wide leg.

Choose from a huge variety of high-quality cotton fabrics. ALL MATERIALS ARE INCLUDED.

We recommend completing Learn to Sew 1 or being comfortable sewing on a machine to register for this sewing class.

80s GYM SHORTS & SCRUNCHIES! Starting September 14!

The ultimate 80s vibe. These “dolphin shorts” will pair perfectly with your mesh crop top and wrap around Ray Bans for an afternoon of beach volleyball.… and THEN we make a scrunchie, because why not?!?

If you haven’t used double-fold bias tape, you’re in for a treat because this stuff makes everything look slick. And we’ve sourced some super high-quality 100% cotton tape made in Montréal. You’re gonna want to make them in every colour!!

It’s unisex, all bodies + sizes welcome.

MENDING & ALTERATIONS: DENIM - Starts September 14th

Denim! Jeans are arguably the most popular article of clothing, and when they fit just right — it’s magic. We’ve altered and repaired hundreds of jeans, jean jackets, jean shorts, jean jumpsuits….

We know all the little tips and tricks and we can’t wait to share them with you!

You will leave with sewing samples of new techniques AND you will have the chance to use them on your own garments.

Learn how to:
* Repair crotch holes (3 different methods)
* Taper jeans or jean jackets
* Euro hem jeans (maintaining the original hem)
* Take in back waistband (get the right shape for your bum)
* Use a denim needle and topstitching thread
* Shorten cuffs on a jean jacket
* Elbow patches + knee patches
* Cut jeans into jean shorts (yes, there’s a technique!)
* Do a proper fitting and size jeans to your body
* plus lots more trade secrets from our years as a tailor shop…

Skill Level: The more comfortable you are with sewing, the more you will get out of this course! You should be comfortable on the machine: you have ideally completed a beginner courses and / or have made a garment!

LEARN TO SERGE - Starts September 12th

What is a serger? Chances are, the garment you’re wearing now was made using a serger. If you look inside, you’ll see loopy threads— because it’s made with a SERGER not a sewing machine!

If you want to work with stretch fabrics, this is the class for you! You’ll learn how to thread the serger, troubleshoot weird problems, and make a cute boxy sweatshirt in 100% cotton french terry, all while conquering your fear and making the serger your best friend.
