Firefighters used to enter buildings with thick rubber gear to protect them but, because of Stephanie Kwolek, they are much safer today. She invented Kevlar which helps protect the firefighters, in conjunction with Nomex (which she ALSO is responsible for). We celebrate Women's History Month because of her and the millions of other who have contributed to fire safety around the world. womenempowerment

Winter 2026 is underway!
Our Seneca Polytechnic Fire Protection Engineering Technology Students are busy in their studies and also doing their part to help out.

The Winter semester is here and we're back into the swing of things.

Thanks to our partners Troy Life & Fire Safety Ltd., students kicked off the year prepared with custom backpacks with essential supplies and Maple Armor for sponsoring the Orientation T-shirts again.

Big thanks to First Peoples @ Seneca Polytechnic, along with staff from Counseling Services and related Academic Support areas for being there for our students.

Huge thanks to all our staff and student volunteers who made Orientation a success. Here’s to a safe and successful semester!
