🎹 Student Achievement Spotlight! 🎹
We are so happy to celebrate the remarkable achievement of Annastasia (12), a piano student at University Settlement’s Music & Arts School!
At the Ontario Music Festivals Association (.ca), Annastasia stood out among an exceptionally talented field of young pianists. Competing in Grade 10, Group D, she was one of only two performers selected from her group to advance to the final playoff round. Across four groups of 15–20 pianists each, only eight finalists were chosen to compete in the playoffs.
In the final round, Annastasia was awarded Playoff Finalist – Honourable Mention with Distinction. Adjudicators praised her performances of a Chopin Nocturne and a Haydn Sonata, noting the high level of technical skill, stylistic understanding, and musical expression she demonstrated. She received outstanding feedback and an overwhelmingly positive adjudication for her performances.
We also extend our congratulations to her teacher, Ken Marple, a long-time and highly valued member of our faculty. Ken’s dedication, expertise, and mentorship continue to inspire excellence in our students.

Aaron recently scored 91% on his Level 9 Piano Exam🎓

We are thrilled to celebrate an outstanding accomplishment by Aaron Laraby, a piano student at the Music & Arts School!
Aaron recently earned 1st Place at the Ontario Music Festivals Association (OMFA) Provincial Finals competition in the Popular/Contemporary Piano – Junior Level (Ages 13–14) category. 🏆
