Congratulations to New College alum Catherine Abreu (NEW '09), this year's recipient of the 2023 National Hero Honour from Canada's Walk of Fame.

Catherine is an internationally renowned, award-winning environmental champion. The founder of Destination Zero, a non-profit organization working to build a fossil-free future through partnerships, Catherine has over 15 years of experience campaigning on environmental issues. She is one of the world's 100 most influential people in climate policy, as named by Apolitical in 2022.
