On the International Day of Education, we want to emphasize the importance of teaching the Quran to our children at a young age.

Undoubtedly, learning the Quran at a young age has significant benefits for the future, including:

Love for the Book of Allah and attachment to it, memorizing its status.
Understanding the rules of the Arabic language and enhancing language skills.
Understanding the principles of religion, Islamic values, and its rulings.
A Quran memorizer adorns his parents with the crown of dignity in paradise.
Great rewards and blessings, along with the tranquility and peace of mind that a Quran memorizer attains.
Developing the ability to memorize, contemplate, strengthening memory, and enhancing intellectual and cognitive skills.

Therefore, parents are urged to guide their children to memorize the Book of Allah and make it an educational priority as our teachers at Nurabi are dedicated to diversifying teaching methods to facilitate memorization and bring the Quran closer to our children, encouraging their excellence in it

“But this 'Quran' is 'a set of' clear revelations 'preserved' in the hearts of those gifted with knowledge”
from Surah Al-Ankabut (49)

This verse is an invitation to all Muslims to directly memorize the Quran in their hearts and minds, not just in books or through other means of transmission.

And here are some lessons learned from the story of the great Companion “Abdullah ibn Masud”, who was considered one of the best readers and interpreters of the Qur'an in the Prophet's era.

His story reflects the dedication and effort that the Companions put into memorizing, understanding, and transmitting the Book of God.

What can we learn from the story of Abdullah ibn Masud:

✔️ There is no specific age to start memorizing the Qur'an. Abdullah ibn Masud began memorizing the Qur'an in his youth, but the important thing is to start memorizing and seeking the knowledge of the Qur'an regardless of age.
✔️ Dedicate yourself to diligence in memorizing the Qur'an and studying it, and work hard to understand its meanings and apply them in everyday life.
✔️ The importance of transmitting Quranic knowledge and the Prophetic Sunnah to subsequent generations.
✔️ The importance of excellence in tajweed. Abdullah ibn Masud was known for his wonderful recitation and distinctive tajweed, which made him one of the Prophet's favorite readers.
✔️ Observance of humility and not bragging about knowledge no matter how much knowledge is.

Teaching children Islamic manners should be done with gentleness and patience, setting ourselves as role models for them to emulate. After all, actions speak louder than words.

So, let's highlight some important Sunnahs and traditions of dining that can be explained to children as follows:

✔️ Saying 'Bismillah' (In the name of Allah) at the beginning of the meal, eating with the right hand, and eating what is directly in front of you.
✔️ Sitting while eating.
✔️ If a morsel of food falls, pick off any dirt and eat it.
✔️ Thanking Allah after finishing the meal or drink.
✔️ Being satisfied with what is found in the house for food without criticizing.
✔️ Avoiding overeating.

You can repeat these etiquettes for your child daily during meals until they memorize them. You can also explain them during a fun activity, like coloring instructional cards with pictures to help them understand.

For parents living in non-Arabic-speaking countries, it is crucial to realize that the Arabic language is a precious asset for maintaining the Islamic identity of their children. 🧕
It plays a vital role in enabling their children to connect with their cultural and religious heritage, shaping their daily behaviors such as reading the Quran, performing prayers, and practicing religious rituals.

Therefore, we offer some guidance to assist immigrants or residents in non-Arabic countries in teaching the Arabic language to their children. Among those guidelines:

▪️First▪️ it is important to use the Arabic language in all family communication contexts to express needs, emotions, and ideas.

▪️Second▪️ make the most of various digital programs available in the Arabic language to enhance language learning and interaction. This can be achieved by watching children's Arabic-language cartoons and documentaries, religious, and scientific programs for older youth.

▪️Third▪️ enroll children in educational institutions that offer Arabic language lessons. Additionally, organize mosque visits to encourage children's relationships, especially through communicating in Arabic with Arab friends.

"Nurabi" platform is here to help you instill Islamic culture in your children and enhance their Arabic language through providing an interactive and comprehensive educational environment. It brings together instructors in Quran and Arabic language courses at an affordable cost that suits everyone.
