The term "photography" literally means "light drawing." Sir John Herschel, a British scientist, is said to have invented the term in 1839, combining the Greek words phos (genitive: phtΓ³s) for "light" and graphΓͺ for "drawing or writing." Studying photography lets you record the specifics of an event – and it also allows you to share that event with your friends and family!
