We value our time and ability to connect as a team. It is vital to the work we do. Connection is where all learning begins.

On these cold and dark winter days we think about what can light up a child’s day. What type of materials will they find interesting? What type of textures will they like to feel? What type of books will bring joy. Looking at these busy, messy hands we know engagement was found here.

Our toddlers sure know how to bring meaning to their play. The light graced us with her presence and what a beautiful way to spend a morning: using a tin can to try and catch the reflective light that touched the ground. Play is how children learn.

Natural learning comes in the form of play, especially before the age of 6. Paint has been an incredible material to really explore with all our senses. Mess happens, joy is felt, and such creativity. How were you creative today?

We kick of 2026 with an exploration with PAINT! Each year we choose 4 new materials to explore and learn about as educators! We select materials based on the creative value it offers child. We think about: how open ended are the materials? How can the material be explored in a variety of ways? What are the 100 languages of the material?
Children are often get lots of exposure to paint and we are diving into discovery the material in new and existing ways!!

Time for a little fun with our team as we head into our last 6.5 days of preschool before the break. Grateful everyday for this incredible team of inspiring educators. How will the house get decorated before the treats disappear. Wait and see

Snow is upon us and coming to life in the classroom. Play and exploration =deep learning and joy. Have a wintery weekend

Happy ECE and support staff appreciation day!! Our environment is warm and welcoming. Our children and nurtured and care for. The walls and filled with noises of joy, laughter and support. WHY? Because of our incredible team! We are so grateful and couldn’t do this incredible work without you!

Children are hassled and bustled all around in the busy day to day lives we live. At Applejacks natural rhythms of children are honoured and celebrated. We pause. We reflect and we go with the flow as the day allows. Letting children be is a magic.
