From stepping outside her comfort zone to exploring some of Europe’s most exciting cities, Student Ambassador Amelia W. is reflecting on her unforgettable experience on our Grand Tour Europe program 🌍✈️
Through new friendships, new experiences, and plenty of adventure along the way, she discovered just how rewarding it can be to put yourself out there.

Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone! Whether it’s participating in activities, asking questions, or making new friends, the more you put yourself out there, the more you’ll get out of the program.

I wanted to become a Student Ambassador because I love helping others feel welcome and supported. Also I love that I am able to share my experiences on a GSA program.

𝑰𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒂 𝒔𝒖𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒑𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓, 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒊𝒕 𝒃𝒆?
Teleportation! It would make traveling to see friends, explore new cities, or even just get to school on time way easier.

𝑨𝒓𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂 𝒃𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒉 𝒐𝒓 𝒄𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒐𝒏?
I’d say I’m more of a city person. I love exploring new places, trying different foods, and experiencing the energy of a city, but I do enjoy a beach day for relaxing.

Fridays are for dreaming about where you’ll go next 🌍✈️

A reminder that classrooms don’t always have four walls — sometimes they’re found in places where history comes to life.

Drawn in by the chance to explore vibrant cities, rich culture, and world-famous sights like St. Peter’s Basilica and the Colosseum, Student Ambassador Abigail C.'s experience quickly became about even more than the destinations. She was able to embrace every moment: building lasting connections and memories that continue well beyond the summer.

𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒎?
I was most looking forward to exploring every city on my Italy program, including experiencing the food and culture, and seeing all the attractions. My two highlights were experiencing St. Peter's Basilica at the Vatican and the Colosseum in Rome.

𝑶𝒏𝒆 𝒑𝒊𝒆𝒄𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒂𝒅𝒗𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒇𝒖𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝑮𝑺𝑨 𝒔𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝒊𝒔...
I would tell future GSA students to be very present and soak up every moment. I can guarantee you will make some of the best friendships - I became so close with people and still get together with them regularly. If you can put your phone away and learn about your classmates and the city you're in, your experience will be that much better.

𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒉𝒐𝒃𝒃𝒊𝒆𝒔/𝒄𝒍𝒖𝒃𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒆𝒏𝒋𝒐𝒚𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒏𝒐𝒘?
I really enjoy hiking, running and being outdoors! This year, I participated in cross country with my school!

𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕’𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒈𝒐-𝒕𝒐 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒐𝒓 𝒔𝒏𝒂𝒄𝒌?
I love drinking coffee, no matter the time of day. Gingerbread lattes were my new winter favourite!

POV: your classroom has no walls and way better views 🌿😌

From London to the Greek Islands, and France the summer before, Student Ambassador Kayleigh E.F. made the most of every moment abroad, turning iconic landmarks into real-life classrooms and unforgettable memories. 🌍✨

𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒎𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒒𝒖𝒆 𝒄𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒔 𝒉𝒆𝒍𝒅 𝒅𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑮𝑺𝑨 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒎? My most unique class was acting as a tour guide in France for my classmates. Our teacher gave us a research project on a famous landmark in Paris, where we guided our teacher and classmates using the metro to the destination and taught our new friends about the landmark. I chose the Arc de Triomphe, which was incredible to see in person - I've seen it as the final section of the Tour de France cycling race, and never thought I'd get to see it! This was a fabulous project to explore a new city while doing coursework.

𝑶𝒏𝒆 𝒑𝒊𝒆𝒄𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒂𝒅𝒗𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒇𝒖𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝑮𝑺𝑨 𝒔𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝒊𝒔...
I'd recommend a good portable phone charger and a generous data plan that allows you to keep taking amazing photos, to navigate to your next destination, and message friends and family! I'd also recommend taking some extra excursions offered by Global Summers - without them, I'd have missed visiting the Palace of Versailles, and going punting in Oxford!

I've been inspired by Global Summers Academy to look into universities overseas! I've applied to direct-entry medicine programs in the UK. I also plan on continuing to use my French language skills improved by my course in France so that I don't lose the language!

𝑰𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒂 𝒔𝒖𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒑𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓, 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒊𝒕 𝒃𝒆? I'd choose to have the power of immortality. I could keep exploring the world and visit new countries, and become fluent in more languages! I'd also learn about anything and everything I wanted, and I'd love to be able to positively impact the world using my knowledge!
