I see so many learners still struggling to read in grade 3 and older. Sometimes there haven't been effecive interventions because someone thought that with maturity 'everything would start to come together" and sometimes there haven't been effective interventions because as students, the children slipped under the radar- they were quiet, they didn't interrupt , they were 'good kids' in a large class. I want to start a discussion about how we can support these students, both in class and at home.

Every student has their own set of challenges. The truth is, every person has their own set of challenges. One of my favourite things to do after working with a student for a few months is to show them earlier work, and let them feel the pride in how much they have grown.
