Happy Canada Day from all of us at The Trail Research Hub!

We hope that today provides an opportunity for you to explore Canada, and our amazing landscapes, places and spaces through trails.

Trails have the power to connect us to our heritage by preserving historic places and by providing access to them. They can give people a sense of place and an understanding of the enormity of past events.

This Canada Day consider exploring our shared history through trails by visiting: Sentier Nepisiguit Mi'gmaq Trail, the East Coast Trail, The Bruce Trail Conservancy, the Group of Seven Lake Superior Trail, or any number of trails in Canada's National Historic Sites, National Parks, or Provincial / Territorial parks.

Happy National Canoe Day!

Did you know that a 2007 poll by CBC resulted in the canoe being named one of the Seven Wonders of Canada? This lead to June 26th being designated National Canoe Day by the Canadian Canoe Musuem.

Water trails, also known as blueways, are marked routes on navigable waterway such as rivers, lakes, canals, and coastlines for recreational use. They allow access to waterways for recreational use.
