Pad a Child Through Storytelling
One of the things I love doing is telling my children how I grew up without pads. We used reusable cloths, washed them, and dug a hole in the field to dump the water. Every time I tell this story, my 18-year-old looks at me like, “Mama… be for real.”
This is a girl who—if she had the option—would rather throw away her underwear and buy new ones. The idea of washing period blood is completely unimaginable to her. And honestly, that contrast reminds me how far I’ve come.
I tell these stories with pride because I got out. I can afford pads. I can afford comfort, dignity, and choice.
This month of February, I am sponsoring girl children at Alabama Plots in Kadoma, Zimbabwe, making sure every girl has access to sanitary pads—so no one has to miss school, feel ashamed, or suffer in silence because of a natural monthly cycle.
Menstruation is something we all go through as women and girls. Going through it without proper resources is simply not fair.
My friends and family—if you got out, and you can afford a pad and more—please be moved with me. Sponsor a girl. Bless her with a pad. Restore her dignity.
Together, we can turn a painful memory into a powerful gift for another girl. 🌸

Hard to believe it’s been a year since the acquisition of Northland by Proactive. Within the year, my confidence has personally and professionally been shaken mainly because I don’t do well when I feel like I am just another number.
Northland was family, very intimate, very personal and you felt the love even when you are taking feedback from peers, clients and the bosses. It was something that I don’t think I will get from anywhere even if I look hard enough.
I enjoyed working with Mike, as a leader, very hands on, which taught me a lot on that style of leadership and as a person, very thoughtful, insightful and smart just about the type human I want around me. I want to believe that, he was about the only person who understood me professionally, personally and psychologically and I say that from having searched my heart for negative things to scrutinize him on.
The take home here is that don’t take professional relationships for granted, they build you just as much as your personal relationships.
I can’t say I am ready to move on but it is sadly something that I have to learn to live with.
Change for me has always been about reaching that next best thing, step, opportunity and it was never forced because I never had to change the person I have built myself to be.
You never know the impact someone has in your life until they are gone!
15 years and then just got to start all over again!
Lately I have been struggling if I am doing right by myself, doing this person I am good by wanting so badly to be a success.
I have had dreams battling and fighting with men to prove to them of who I am and what exactly I want including the most recent one where I sat down with Steph Curry and he told me he doesn’t think doing my MA INDH was a good idea lol
I told him it was because I have learnt a lot and it is going to take me to where I want to be.
Woke up and Googled Steph Curry and what came out was his Famous quote
“Success is not an accident, success is actually a choice”
I will make that choice!

When I was little we played the country game and I was always USA and everyone knew. I led people into chaos, shenanigans, fearless fights, hurricanes, and I got into my own troubles which I always found ways out of and blame either Canada for being too soft or Iran for just being there and disturbing the peace Iraq for being Chaotic. Afghanistan or all the other Tans were my secret best friends. India was were I go to charge my phone😂
Then I grew up went to America 😂😂😂😂 the reality stuck in me that I really was an aggressive Lunatic but hey what can you do when everyone looks up to you to make world go around, you can’t just be regular you got to be extraordinary!
Now settled in Canada and hoping people would have just called me Canada growing up could have went any other way!
