Why creative writing?
Creative writing contains ultimate power: stories are, and have always been, what resonate within us.
Young minds have so much to say, but often need to find the right mode to express it. Creative writing removes barriers, giving individuals the tools they need to express perspectives, insights, and passions.

Through working as a teacher, tutor, and camp professional, I came to realize how everyone has creativity in them, but are often missing the tools needed to express it.
I believe that passion, perspective, and voice are best shown through creative writing. Knowing that after the strange end to the school year we’ve had students could benefit from more time to express themselves (and outdoors!), I decided to start Wordplay to help youth recognize and know how to use the powerful voices they have within them
When I’m not reading or writing, I like to rock climb or hang out with my best friend , my dog Tucker (real-life proof below!).
