If students don't have a really solid understanding of what fractions really are, advanced math is going to be a struggle. Operations with fractions, algebra, problem solving.... They all require fractional reasoning.

Learn the 7 key steps to teaching fractions so that students will understand and remember. Teach fraction activities that include real world experiences and hands-on learning. Be sure to use fractions manipulatives and talk about the meaning behind the fraction, not the numbers!

Reports card went yesterday, Family Day weekend is here - and we've officially reached the hump day of the school year!!

Have an amazing weekend, you've earned it!!

We have to post work online on snow days.
I just put this together for my kids today that are missing their gym class and thought you might want a copy too.

It’s better for younger grades but older kids could have some fun with it too 😊

Not sure about inquiry-based learning? This is why you need to try it!

My high school Geography teacher told us he wasn't going to have us learn where cities are on a map, he was going to teach us how to read a map.

That's stuck with me.

Memorizing facts isn't useful in today's world when we have Google literally at our fingertips. We need curious kids with the critical thinking skills to make great things happen.
