today something happened that i truly never thought would… i turned 30.
i spent so many years of my twenties depressed and in my head just fighting to make it to the next day… this one feels like a real milestone.
whether we’re friends in the real world or met online, if you’ve come to a show / event or have not the slightest clue who i am… it’s all the same to me - i’m happy you’re here.
thanks for being you and for being along for the journey… feeling so very grateful 💛💛

We have such a tendency to worry about what other people are going to think, so we “wait” until something is perfect until we take action.
This is great if you never want to accomplish anything (seriously, it’s a great strategy), but the problem is that perfection DOES NOT exist. When we tell ourselves that we’re waiting until something’s perfect, what we’re really saying is “I’m not confident in what I’m doing” and/or “I’m scared the people will judge me/this.”
So how do you push through?
You just start.
I’m not advocating to put your name on something that’s trash. I’m merely saying to get it 90% of the way there and then adjust it over time.
Signed,
AKA a recovered “terrified of judgement perfectionist”

Photos are absolutely crazy. Fin doesn’t look like his usual cheery self in this one but we didn’t know why. He passed less than two weeks later from tumor that wanted a piece of his big heart ❤️
It’s easy to place blame on others, but we very rarely know what someone is going through.
Start Stronger begins Monday (Jan. 18) - can’t wait to get started with you!

Arguably one of the best books I’ve ever read. If you’re thinking about it, do it. Pick it up from a local bookstore and give it a read. Or - better yet, listen to the audiobook. It’s like listening to tell you a bedtime story for 30 hours. Highly, highly recommend.

It goes without saying that people are anxious about what tomorrow, and more importantly, what the future holds.
Virtually every cycle people say, “this is the most important election of our lives”. Well, I think that’s genuinely true this time around.
While I hope that they go one way and that the country moves forward, these things are never guaranteed. ?
If things don’t go the way you had hoped, it may feel like the world is ending. Trust me when I say that just because the world feels like it’s ending, doesn’t mean that it is. There are good people out there who are committed to making our world a better/more equitable place today than it was yesterday and further a better place tomorrow than it is today.
We’re truly stronger, together.
