so often, womxn, especially BIWOC, and folks with disabilities, are told “you’re so resilient” “you’re so strong” in response to our pleas for support or cries in survivorship. yooooo... i actually really just want to chill and have a nice, normal time, with regular hardship. i want to be loved and supported even if i never do another thing or ‘overcome’ another thing. gimme. give us.

equality vs equity - i want this hair to spiral curl. these two different curl textures got the same conditioner, same brush, even live on my same head. but one of them is lower down on my head. it has different access to air when drying. it also experiences more pressure when in a ponytail, which after time, wears it down. i can’t expect these curls to respond to the same treatment. one might need a lil extra conditioner. maybe a lil braid to help train it to perform the same as the other. i don’t have to resent it. i just need to resource it effectively. y’all, sometimes we need different things to meet expectations and to thrive. ➿〰️ (also staying frizzy is fine too. babygirl, do your thing)
