We figured you’d have some questions about the study. We’ve got you covered - check out the responses to commonly asked questions below.

Q: What is this study about?

This cross-national study examines the issue of gender diversity in leadership in Canada and India from three angles: national and regional policies; corporate initiatives; and educational efforts to increase women’s representation in leadership roles.

We seek to conduct individual interviews with professional women who have completed graduate level management education and work in Canadian organizations (from a variety of industries) on their experiences with gender equity in the workplace.

Q: What will I be asked to do?

You are invited to participate in an individual interview conducted virtually via Zoom. Interviews will be scheduled at a time that is convenient for you. Interviews will be recorded and take no more than 45 minutes.

Q: How will the results be publicized?

The results of this study will contribute to the ongoing policy debate on gender diversity in leadership and management education in both the countries. Your responses to the interview questions may be quoted in the journal article and/or industry magazine article that result from this study. All identifying information (for example name, organization and location) will be removed before any direct quotes are included in the article(s).

Q: When will the study be completed?

The study will be completed by April 30, 2022.

Q: Who has sponsored the study?

The project is funded by the Shastri-Indo Canadian Institute and has been reviewed and approved by the Ryerson University Research Ethics Board (REB file number 2019-379). The study is being led by Dr. Rupa Banerjee, Canada Research Chair and Associate Professor at the Ted Rogers School of Business Management, Ryerson University.

Has the face of senior leadership changed in corporate Canada? After decades of policy development, and the rise of women in corporate leadership programs and academic MBA programs, have we moved the needle on gender parity in boardrooms? That's what we would like to know.

The study will explore the impact of educational and organizational policies and practices on gender diversity in leadership positions. We would like to glean insights about the experiences of Canadian women as they enter and navigate through the field of management.

If you are a professional woman who has recently completed graduate level management education, or you have years of management experience in a wide range of industries, we want to hear from you. Click Sign Up button above today to participate!
