When I brought Grampy a copy of Remember Me I kind of felt like a kid bringing home an awesome report card. “This is my granddaughter. She told me she was going to write a book and she did it. It’s about my wife,” he told everyone. He turned each page and looked it over and over and when I read the dedication to him we both got teary. “Oh dear,” he said. “I love you too.” And then, before it got too emotional, he got serious and practical. “Are you going to make some money selling this book, Brandy? You have to make a living. And how is your van running? What year is it? Did you drive from Welland all by yourself? It’s a long drive to come all that way just to see me. Oh dear.” Oh, Grampy. I’d drive 16 hours to see you during a snowstorm…and yes, I’m selling the book. This was my grandmother’s favourite song. With this weird weather we took advantage of our proximity to the beach and had an "art challenge." Teams were to use beach rocks to create images or shapes within a time limit.
