After being a stay at home mom for 10 years I have recently started working part time at Variety Village, a gem in our community. I love the people that I get to interact with everyday but especially the kids as they have fun in the building participating in all the different programs that are offered - many of them from our local schools. Before I had my boys I worked at a school doing communications, events, and fundraising. It was here that I discovered that I loved being in and working to help make the best possible environment for kids to learn and thrive. Not only is it about what they are learning in school but the support systems, activities, and so much more to build a rich environment to help motivate and fulfill our kids needs. This means smart planning for building/renovating, program development, and having the tools that our kids and teachers need.

Why am I running?
We need to continue the great work Parthi has started, to be a strong voice for our community which benefited not only our ward but all the wards and communities across the GTA. By creating opportunities through programming, appropriate funding, along with parent/teacher engagement. We need to continue to require accountability, transparency, creativity, and a problem solving mindset.
Accountability
All levels of the board right from inside the classrooms to the boardrooms of the TDSB need to be held responsible for decisions made.
Transparency
What is accountability without transparency? How are we to know that the decisions made are the right ones and executed in the appropriate manner? This needs to be increased especially when it comes to our students' safety and wellbeing.
Creativity
We have such a rich and diverse community with amazing local resources that we need to be supporting and be supported by. We need to first reach out to those who are local for solutions and new opportunities.
Problem Solving Mindset
Not get bogged down in why we’re at the point we are but to deal with the situation at hand for the best result possible with keeping in mind that this is all about the kids!

Thank you for joining me here on my journey to be the next TDSB Trustee for Ward 18. I have lived in the area for over 21 years and truly care about our community. I especially care about our public education system as I have two boys in one of our local schools, grade 6 and grade 3. From the time my eldest started school I knew that I wanted to be a part of the school community helping out where I could. Immediately I started to attend school council meetings becoming a parent representative and volunteer whenever needed. Not long after I became the Communications and Social Media Coordinator ensuring that our families were up to date on what was happening in our school community.
