🤎 A sweet little surprise at the centre this morning! We spotted a beautiful mama deer and her baby enjoying a peaceful morning nearby. 🌿✨

A special nature moment for our children to observe and enjoy. Sometimes the best learning experiences happen right outside our doors! 🍃🦌💕

📚 Community walks are always full of discovery! Today, our preschoolers made a special stop at the local library, where they enjoyed exploring and connecting with their community. We can’t wait until the renovations at Centennial Library are complete so we can enjoy many more story-filled visits together! 💛

🌿🌼 Our preschoolers had a fantastic morning exploring the Garden Hub beside Northview Heights Secondary School. From discovering plants and flowers to observing nature up close, every moment sparked curiosity and wonder.

Outdoor experiences like these support the ELECT framework and How Does Learning Happen? (HDLH) by encouraging exploration, inquiry, engagement, and meaningful connections with the natural world. 💚🌱

• Today, we had the honour of welcoming Minister Rechie Valdez, Minister of Women and Gender Equality, to our child care centre for an announcement highlighting the Government of Canada’s continued investment in supporting families through the Canada Child Benefit and the positive impact it has in helping parents with the cost of raising children.

Minister Valdez was joined by Chi Nguyen, Member of Parliament for Spadina–Harbourfront, and Vince Gasparro, Member of Parliament for Eglinton–Lawrence.

Our preschoolers were delighted to spend time with our special guests! They gathered together for a storytime featuring one of their favourite books, Mmm… Cookies!, followed by a wonderful conversation about everyone’s favourite kinds of cookies and who loves baking them at home. It was a heartwarming opportunity for our children to engage in literacy, conversation, and community with our visitors.

Thank you to Minister Valdez, MP Chi Nguyen, and MP Vince Gasparro for taking the time to visit our centre, connect with our children, and recognize the important role that quality early learning and child care plays in supporting Canadian families.
