WUSC at UTSU-New College

As part of fostering strong relationship within our community, we’re thrilled to announce that we have a movie on the 1st of November, we shall provide 10 tickets for the first 10 individuals to arrive 😊💪. Come let’s have fun before classes resume.

On September 22nd, we welcomed our new student @ Anne Agot at New College,University of Toronto ,we also had teams from other colleges and universities welcoming their new SRP students too. We’re all excited to have our new students join the family and we’re looking forward to showing them around and everything they need know to settle in as they start their new life and school life in Canada.

As the academic year is about to end, we are excited to announce that the next SRP Community Connection will take place on Tuesday, April 30th at University of Toronto Students’ Union, 230 College St, from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM.

This event is not only a chance to relax and celebrating the end of this academic year but also an opportunity to catch up with the other SRP fellow at University of Toronto campuses before embarking on the summer endeavors.
We are having an exciting games and activities such as games, karaoke and more.
Food, beverages and snacks will be provided!

For those who still have not finished all their exams, best of the luck.

The UTSU-New College WUSC Local Committee joined the world in celebrating World Refugee Day 2023. Hosted by Skylar and Nyandeng with the support from UTSU staff team.

It was a successful event with a great turnout.

The event opened with a speech by the current UTSU president, Elizabeth— who shared her message through a video.

We were honoured to have Maryam and Nivaal, who joined and shared their inspiring and wonderful work they continue to do.

We were also delighted to hear from Kuir who attended both as one of the SRP alum, 2002 and he represented .

We had a pleasure to hear from , who shared a video with her inspiring message through spoken words.

SRP students shared their experiences with wishes, gratitude and encouragement.

Thank you Goodnews, Abdulrahman, Jaffar, Nyandeng and Skylar for gracefully sharing your journey to and in Canada

Last but not least, with our continued efforts to support a once refugee or refugee owned business. We worked with the amazing who catered with excellence for everyone who attended to have food and taste the Syrian cuisine.

Thank you everyone who attended, shared and inspired.

Thank you to for creating paths that save lives and shape the future and , for being extremely exemplary.

The event wouldn’t have been this tremendously successful without you all!

Let’s continue to raise awareness and shed light around global refugee crisis now that as we know there are over 110 million displaced people.

The world can really use everyone’s support now than ever.
