From Flatiron to Fabulous!
Here's the difference:
WATER!
What do flatiron and keeping curly hair straight require?
No water.
What do big, juicy, shiny curls require?
WATER!
It's you magic curl potion.
Not gobs of conditioners.
Not fancy brushes.
Not weird haircuts that 'carve' out your curls.
Squish in as much water as you can get in your hair with a tiny bit of my IM Curly All Natural Moisturizer and BAM!
Tons of Bouncy curls!
For a full 13 minute tutorial, visit my website and look under the heading 'Consumer education' and 'Video'

How to Spot Dehydration !?!
My new client was also getting a cut to make her ends nice and strong !
You can easily spot dehydration by the outer colour of your hair.
If you see almost a milky halo, and it's looking kinda light, that's dehydration.
*Note the colour and shine difference in my client's hair.
I started by gently cleansing with my IM Curly Low Lather Cleanser and while her hair was wet, added a wee bit of my IM Curly Moisturizer to the ends and squished in tons of water, working up towards the roots! It should sound like a foot in a wet boot.
When I wet-cut, I always use Olaplex #2 to strengthen the bonds in my clients' hair and that in turn help the hair to retain moisture.
You know you are done squishing water in when your hair stops absorbing the water, and it sits on the outside.
You may need to go back and forth between adding a bit of water with your hands, then a small dab of Moisturizer.
It's all about the Water.
The Moisturizer is just there to attract and help hold the water in; tons of conditioner only coats the hair, it's the water that Hydrates.
Happy Hydrating !!!

Are you 'Growing' your hair or 'Neglecting' your hair??
Learn the TWO P's of growing!
Hair grows about 6 inches per year.
In that time, there is lots of wear and tear.
Think of wearing the same clothes and exposing them to sunlight, pollution, blowdrying, washing, pulling on the fabric (ponytails), being soaked in chlorine, (you get the picture) and then ignored.
The fabric gets frayed and unravels.
Not a great scenario, right ?
This is what a lot of people think 'growing' their hair means.
This is why there is the 'growing' then 'big chop' cycle'
Then it's too short, but finally healthy.
Then you 'grow' it because it's too short.
Then you chop it because it's fried.
So..how do you REALLY grow it ??
Here's the TWO P's;
Prevent and Pamper !
You are now preparing your hair for a long distance event..
What you do over the long term is what counts.
What you do every day adds up.
The main thing is to get FREQUENT every 2 - 3 months TOPS) trims to keep the split ends away and from travelling upwards and breaking off short.
Always use professional products at home that are recommended by your stylist, who keeps track of how the products are doing for your hair.
My clients use my 100% Natural, gentle IM Curly products to pamper and hydrate their Manes!
Learn the main causes of damage and avoid them, keeping in mind that damage is cumulative.
Preventative action is what counts.
Once the damage is there, at best, you are putting a band-aid on it until it gets trimmed off.
Olaplex bond-builders and deep conditioners should be a part of your pampering.
If your hair is fried, chop it off.
Don't hang on to those 3 frizzly fried bits..they'll only get worse and the appearance of your overall hair will look like you've been in a hot air fryer!
Start growing with healthy hair.
Pamper it always.
End up with a
Gorgeous, Luscious Mane !

'I don't have curls, just FRIZZ' !
Frizz is just curly that have been separated.
That's it.
However if you need help in washing, hydrating, applying styling products and finished your waves/curls, I have a complete 13 minute video on my website just for you.
In it, I style my own hair which is very similar in wave/curl like this photo.
Let's bust all of your problems in one go !

At this time of year, we're all feeling dried out from the lack of moisture in the cold winter air.
Here's a handy little chart I designed for you to help explain different types of damage you may also be experiencing.
However, no amount of treatments, Olaplex, K18, deep conditioners, etc. will repair split and fried hair.
The ONLY way to get healthy hair at any length is to start with healthy hair , and that means cutting off ALL of the split, frayed and broken ends, otherwise the splits keep travelling upwards and you get breakage much higher than you would have had to originally cut.
(sorry, but I want you to always have the best hair possible in the easiest way.... xoxoxo)

Dry winter weather can really cause more flat tops, especially with our curly hair.
But……
It’s an easy fix, right out of the shower to avoid separating your curls and creating frizz.
What to use:
Single prong, metal haircutting clips; nothing expensive or fancy .
Clip Pattern:
• Horizontally across your part, leaving out front hairline, from front to behind your crown.
How to Insert Clips:
• turn clip on it’s side
• pinch a small amount of hair at your root
•at a 45 degree angle or less, slide front tip of clip along your scalp where you’re pinching your root and lower your clip as you do this
• the more clips and smaller amount of hair, the faster your drying time
Pro Tips:
• you want to put your clips in right out of the shower because your body heat will dry your roots very quickly
• if your roots dry flat, they will stay that way
• if you need extra boosting at your roots, you can apply a firm hold gel near your roots at your scalp for extra hold during the day, even if you use a curl cream on your ends
• if your curls droop during the day, you can tip your head upside down and massage your roots only to avoid frizzing your ends
All hair gets volume from the roots, especially curly hair!
You should be able to get these clips at any Beauty Supply store that sells to the public.
Metal ones are the best as they have a firmer grip.
Any questions ? Feel free to ask in the comments and we’ll do this together!

Have you ever touched your curl cast before your hair was dry and it exploded into a frizzy mess?
Did you take hours cold air diffusing your curls to perfection only to have one small touch ruin everything ?
Yup. This is basically All of us !
Here’s how to get back to easy, natural feeling and looking curls again !
1) Speed up your drying process ;
Use warm air and no diffuser.
Use a low pressure/speed setting.
Aim your blow dryer from your roots to your ends, smooothing out your curls as you dry .
2) Use my UnGel;
My new styling product that creates curl through a tsunami of hydration and has a medium hold.
Your curl is formed through weightless, moisture, not a crunchy curl cast.
Now here’s the good part ❤️
You can actually touch your curls again and refreshing your curls is a breeze!
Much better curl spring between washing because of the moisture retaining qualities!
In my video here, I’m finishing my clients hair with my UnGel UnDone technique.
I’m so over that slick, hyper-defined krispy krunchy kurl look .
Come and have hassle-free, soft touchable curls again !
But beware.
🚫 You can’t do this with any other product on the market.
Only available at www.imcurly.ca
