Today is National Indigenous Peoples Day - a day to celebrate the traditions, cultures and contributions of First Nations, Inuit and MΓ©tis! βšͺπŸŸ‘βš«πŸ”΄

This annual day was first celebrated in 1996 after the call for its creation by various Indigenous groups, such as the Assembly of First Nations (previously the National Indian Brotherhood), the Sacred Assembly, and the Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples. πŸ’¬ Originally named "National Aboriginal Day", the name was changed in 2017 to what we know it as today.
