Congratulations to our artistic director Zimfira Poloz on receiving a Lifetime Artistic Achievement Award at the World Choir festival in Hong Kong. This festival is hosted by WYCCAA Official , for whom Zimfira is an artistic advisor, and long time jury member. Thank you to the festival, and Professor Leon Tong, WYCCAA Artistic Director, for awarding Zimfira with this amazing honour.

And they're off! Our Chamber Choir are now on route for their international tour to Hong Kong and Singapore! ✈️

This marks our 34th international tour and continues a long tradition of the TCC Chamber Choir representing Canada abroad. The Chorus is deeply honoured to have been invited to perform and participate in two prestigious international choral festivals:

🇭🇰 First Stop: Hong Kong – The choir will serve as the distinguished Resident Choral Artist at the World Choir Festival-Hong Kong. Additionally, our Artistic Director, Zimfira Poloz, will join the international jury adjudicating the festival's competition.
🇸🇬 Next Stop: Singapore – The choir will travel to Singapore to perform as the Headline Guest Choir at the Voices of the World International Choir Festival.

The Toronto Children’s Chorus is adding our voices to millions across the country cheering for the in today's historic FIFA Round-of-16 game. Sing it loud, let’s go Canada!

We are so grateful to our Tour donors who have helped our upcoming tour to Hong Kong and Singapore take flight!

Our Angel Donors responded to the call, making it possible for us to provide financial assistance to 13 choristers who would otherwise not have been able to go on tour.

On behalf of all of our choristers, their families, and everyone at the Toronto Children's Chorus, thank you for believing in these remarkable young people and for investing in their musical journeys.

From Canada to the World! 🇨🇦✈️

We are incredibly proud to be showcasing the brilliant works of Canadian composers this summer as we head off to two international choral festivals in Hong Kong and Singapore.

One of the standout, mesmerizing pieces in our repertoire is "Earth" (from Elements) by the exceptionally talented Vancouver-based composer Katerina Gimon. This atmospheric work uses improvisational syllables and harmonic overtone singing to evoke the raw, beautiful energy of our planet. Get a taste of this breathtaking piece ahead of time! The Toronto Children's Chorus is deeply saddened by the passing of Ruth Watson Henderson, one of Canada's most beloved composers, musicians, and educators, and a cherished member of the TCC family.

Ruth served as collaborative pianist of the Toronto Children's Chorus from 1978 to 2007, working alongside founder Jean Ashworth Bartle during some of the most formative years in the organization's history. Through her artistry, generosity, and extraordinary musical gifts, she helped shape the sound of the Chorus and inspired generations of young singers.

The Toronto Children's Chorus was honoured to recently recognize Ruth's lifetime of contributions to music and community with the King Charles III Coronation Medal. We are especially grateful to have had the opportunity to celebrate her in person and to express our appreciation for her remarkable legacy. We are pleased to share photos from that special occasion with this tribute.

On behalf of the Toronto Children's Chorus community - past and present - we extend our heartfelt condolences to Ruth's family, friends, colleagues, and the many musicians whose lives she enriched.

The funeral service for Ruth will take place on Saturday, June 20, 10:00 AM at Kingsway Lambton United Church, 85 The Kingsway, Etobicoke.
