Sometimes IELTS Speaking questions really look like job interview questions 😅

Let's try to answer them in comments:

🔹What is your job?

🔹Why did you choose that job?

🔹Do you enjoy your job?

🔹Do you get on well with your co-workers?

🔹What was your first day at work like?

🔹What responsibilities do you have at work?

🔹Would you like to change your job in the future?

🔹What is your typical day like at work?

🔹What would you change about your job?

Hey guys! 🦝 Today we’d like to share a topic for your writing practice.

Let’s talk today about IELTS Writing – Task 2. There are 5 different types of them. This week let’s practice writing an opinion essay 📃

I always recommend to be especially careful with understanding the task – if you are asked “to what extend do you agree or disagree”, it means they still ask for your opinion ➡️ How much do you agree/disagree? 🤔

The structure for this type is crystal clear and here it is:
📍Paragraph 1
State the topic.
Express your opinion (agree or disagree; I don’t recommend to partly agree as it might be more vague).

📍Paragraph 2 – reason 1 why you agree / disagree
Write a clear topic sentence with your main idea at the end.
Explain your main idea.
Give a specific example.
Develop it.
Generalize from your example – conclude this paragraph.

📍Paragraph 3 – reason 2 why you agree / disagree
Write a clear topic sentence with your main idea at the end.
Explain your main idea.
Give a specific example.
Develop it.
Generalize from your example – conclude this paragraph.

📍Paragraph 4
Conclusion

✏️Here’s the topic for this week devoted to FOOD 😋:

Fast food has become more common in recent years. Some people think that it has a negative effect on lifestyles and diets.

To what extend do you agree or disagree?

Give reasons for your answer using your own ideas and experience.

Write at least 250 words.
You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.

Send us a reaction if you like this practice! 🔥

And don’t forget to share your essay in comments as it’ll be great to practice sharing your opinion in English with other people 😎 👇

Last Sunday was an Easter Day. It's a big holiday in Canada.

Here's a video about the history of this holiday: https://youtu.be/eOa5hl4lMvc

And here and in the carousel are some useful words to talk about this holiday:

Let's talk about plants today!

Yesterday I saw a pretty lilac bush. It smelt lovely.

There were lots of tiny cones on the branch.

There was early dew on the grass.

The hill was covered with lily of the valley.

There was a little bud next to a beautiful big rose.

Did you see any plants while walking yesterday?

Make up your own examples with the new words in the comments 👇
