He's a tenant for life at Highgrove, not the owner.

King Charles didn't inherit this garden. He built it from nothing, starting in 1980 — and he doesn't even own the house it surrounds. Over more than 40 years, he personally planted trees and worked alongside some of Britain's most respected garden designers.

Comment "garden" if you didn't know he built this himself.

Guess who legally owns it before you scroll down.

Sandringham looks like a state-owned royal palace. However, it isn't owned by the state at all — it's privately owned by the monarch personally, the same way Balmoral is. The house standing there today isn't even the original; that one was demolished and rebuilt from scratch in 1870.

What's something you'd want left exactly as it was in your own home?

For almost fifty years, part of Graceland has been completely off-limits — even to most of Elvis's own family. The woman responsible for keeping the space clean found something there, years into the job, that had sat unnoticed the entire time: a pair of Elvis's own slippers, tucked under his bed. They're still there today.

Does it bother you when a house with this much history gets torn down? Tell us.

This historic manor had its own country music history before Tim McGraw and Faith Hill ever bought it — it once belonged to Hank Williams Sr. himself. They filmed a music video there and sold it with a plan to see it conserved. Just over a year later, the new owners tore it down.

Guess how the Queen paid to fix a castle fire that caused tens of millions of pounds in damage.

In 1992, fire tore through Windsor Castle, destroying 115 rooms — and to help fund the repair, Buckingham Palace opened its State Rooms to public tours for the very first time.

Guess how they paid for it before you scrolled down.

What's a small thing you dreamed of having as a kid that you finally got? Tell us below.

Kenny Rogers grew up poor in the projects of Houston. His childhood dream wasn't a car, or even a house — it was an automatic sprinkler system, after seeing one in a wealthy neighborhood on his walk to school. Decades later, on his own 973-acre Georgia estate, he'd sit out and just watch his own sprinklers run.

For almost 200 years, every British monarch has called Buckingham Palace home. King Charles just confirmed that's changing — he and Queen Camilla will keep living at Clarence House even after the palace's renovation finishes, and Buckingham Palace will become purely ceremonial.

Patsy Cline's dream home isn't a museum. It's an ordinary red brick house in the suburbs. She bought it in 1962, at the height of her fame, and lived there less than a year. Her furnishings are in a museum across town, but the house is still standing.

Guess how many years she stayed after the divorce before you scrolled down.
George Jones bought this mansion for Tammy Wynette in 1974. Then they divorced in 1975, and she stayed. Nicknamed "First Lady Acres" after her title as country music's First Lady, it outlasted the marriage it was bought for, and when she finally sold it, she held back the iron letters from the gate.

This entire Western town was only ever supposed to be a movie set — the original script called for burning it down after filming. Willie Nelson loved it so much, the script got rewritten just to save it. Decades later, it's hosted a Hollywood miniseries and now an annual music festival.

Share this if you didn't know Willie Nelson basically owns his own town.
