The HUE Lab @ The Creative School is seeking creatives with a passion for the planet to participate in our 2023 Planetary Health Design Jam: Reimagining Medical Waste.

Students will be provided with a bag of common medical waste and tasked with repurposing it into anything new and useful. **$1000 award for winning design**

WHO is this for? Any business, tech, healthcare, or creative students

WHAT is expected? Work in multidisciplinary and international teams (formed by hackathon organizers) to ideate and prototype the hospital room of the future!

Meet design duo, Nandni and Leticia. These runner-ups impressed our panel with their post-op bra design “Mammilla”. With carefully thought out materials, design, and a new, innovative magnetic fastening system, these 2 fashion design students showed us the value of collaborative work.

Meet the winner of the Surgical Bra Redesign opportunity! Jo-Ann Harris, 4th-year Fashion Design student, is a seamstress who owns her own lingerie, swimwear, and loungewear brand “JEC Apparel”.

Jo-Ann’s design pitch demonstrated an exceptional understanding of past patient experience with existing surgical bras, as well as the opportunities where improvement is necessary.

We look forward to following Jo-Ann’s journey throughout this internship!
