She didn’t bring a scrapbook.
She brought what she had.

A Class 4 student was asked to make a scrapbook of seeds.

Her parents couldn’t find the time to buy her a new book, so she did what a child does when given a problem — she found a solution.

She took an old 1997 calendar and repurposed it into a scrapbook.

It wasn’t perfect.
It wasn’t store-bought.
But it was creative, resourceful, and made with whatever she had.

The teacher didn’t see the effort.

The scrapbook was trashed.

And the child was beaten.

Think about that for a moment.

What did we teach that child that day?

That creativity matters only when it looks right?
That a child’s effort is less valuable when their parents cannot provide something new?
That mistakes deserve punishment rather than encouragement?

Education should build confidence, not break it.
It should reward resourcefulness, not shame circumstances.
And a teacher should be the person who sees the child behind the assignment.

Sometimes, the most valuable lesson in a classroom is not written in a textbook.

It is learning to recognize effort, dignity and potential.

🌱 She didn’t have a new scrapbook.
She had an idea.
